Hi:Ghost images or repetitive image defects can be caused by one of two things. Either your toner cartridge is defective or your fuser is bad. The fuser is the component that heats up and fuses the toner to the paper. To determine which one it is do this. Start to print or copy something and shut off the printer just as the paper is going under the image drum but before it enters the fuser. If the problem you described is evident on the paper at this point then the problem is related to the drum. If the problem is not showing up on the paper at this point then the fuser is the culprit and it most likely would cost more then the unit is worth to repair.Andrew

Machine may be in econo mode. To enable/disable.

Isolate to a wall outlet and not a strip.Remove the cartridges.Remove the power plug and then reconnect.Reinstal the cartridges.Try to do a copy direct from the unit.NEXT

Print a self test page and check for Yellow or Magenta to rule out a partially empty cartridge.

1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.
2. Touch the ATM button ( ) next to the Setup icon ( ) in the lower-left corner of the control panel.
3. Touch the right arrow button ( ) to select Tools , and then touch OK .
4. Touch the right arrow button ( ) to select Printer Status Report , and then touch OK .

Put off the printer, Hold down the Fax Button and put the printer on whild holding the Button down for 25secs, after initializations starts, engine rolling let go of the button and allow it go ready, that should do. please rate this solutions please.

Plz see if the corner of the paper will be folded or it has been folded earlier and now it is straight then also that paper will be jammed. So use new unfoiled paper.While inserting it see it is straight in the tray.

Clean the thin glass strip that sits to the left of the flat bed glass.That is the glass used when the ADF is being utilized.There is dirt on it causing the black streak.

By any chance are you using PCL6?
Change to PCL5 and try it.

HiThis indicates an internal hardware error.Plug the machine directly onto the wall socket and turn it off.Wait for at least 1 minute and then turn it on.Let the printer initialize before using it.

Are ayou getting any message loke paper jam?..paper mis match?..If yes..remove back metal door,clean paper sensors as shown in fig.. pl revert for further help...

Check copy option, if its working well, check OS support, un install the drivers install once again with original CD..
