it needs to be repaired others have had the same problem. here's one review... liked this product very much, until it died after a little under 1.5 years. I brought it to a repair center recommended by Panasonic. They quoted me a parts-and-labor price of around $125 to fix the thing. The repair included a new membrane pad (the buttons on the front), new fuse, and new fuse holder. The repair center told me they've been instructed by Panasonic to replace all old fuse holders with newer, better ones. Apparently, the original fuse holder was somewhat defective, causing the fuse to burn out. I don't know if this bears any relation as to why a relatively new membrane pad might have gone bad, but it's certainly annoying for a device costing several hundred dollars.

The on board relay may be defective. Also, this model is based on a switch mode power supply, commonly marketed as inverter microwave. But should be rather called an intensity modulator since what is does is pulse width modulation. An inverter would be DC to AC, without PWM

If its 20 years old Throw it it not cost effective to fix.

Remove outer cabinet. Activate latch to release the door. Probably caused by a broken spring.

It sounds like you have a microswitch that is bad or out of alignment.

If power is supplied to turntable motor yet it does not spin, then replace the motor.

I had that issue and I opened the unit and there was a fuse near where the power went in. Went to the small local hardware store and they ordered it. It was well under $5 (can't remember) but it still works over 10 years later. If the fuse blew again I would have trashed the unit.
