I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I NEEDED A DEDICATED LINE FOR THE FAX MACHINE.. ALSO IN THE OWNERS MANUEL ON PAGE 77 -79 IT GOES INTO DETAIL AT THE VARIOUS SETTINGS TO HAVE THE FAX ANSWER

that's not the right way too remove color. in your printing. put back all the colored cartridge you remove. go to printer properties. > settings > color management or details > then find the button that indicates that will like to print in a black and white scale. do not remove the colored cartridge.

You cannot scan slides with this scanner.
Slide scanners need a light source that shines through the slide not a reflecting light like your scanner.

A regular phone cord will do. It is just a matter of configuration of the printer for you to be able to send fax. For soft fax where you are going to send fax via your computer, you need to install the Utility software that comes with the printer. Check the manual. The item about the fax starts in page 52. The connection of the cord is available in page 54.

You can download the Driver from the HP website.

See the link to be able to download the driver for your printer you just need to select Software and Driver Downloads then select the Windows that you have to be able to get the link for the Driver exactly for you windows version to be downloaded and installed on your Computer.

on the list of drivers you need to download the driver product installation software for your printer to be detected in windows again.

HP Printers have common behavior of going into sleep mode if not used for a while. If this happens every-time the printer goes to sleep mode and you find printing issue, try this simple step below

Disconnect the power cable from back of printer
While holding the # and 3 button, connect the power cord to printer.

*Note this is partial reset and doing so you may loose fax logs and other fax related setting you have setup on printer.

You can download the software suite, or just the drivers, from HP's support site. Go to hp.com and click on Support. Follow the prompts to get to your software download.

Make sure your printer is on.Then check your connection between your PC and your Printer. Make sure your connectors are not loose. If nothing happens, try restarting your printer together with PC.If its not able to detect check your connections with your printer by clicking Windows icon then "devices and printers".Once there right click on printer icon and see if it is enabaled.If your Printer connection is actually connected to another PC or in other words in a network.
