1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced.
4. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.
How do you replace hard drive of pcg-tr3a
how so
Usually on the bottom of the PC there is a cover with usually 2 small screws that hold a cover on. Under that cover you will find the hard drive.
Hope this helps you! If so please check YES! Thanks
What type of hard drive do they support? sata,
That takes an IDE mini hard drive. However if ur in the bios trying to get an operating system to auto recognize the drive then tell it to auto detect. The drive on that is rather high the only 1 I seen was a 40GB at $159
Whenever I boot the computer, it asks to press f1
It sounds like the smartdisk is detecting a problem with the HDD and is predicting imminent failure. It might be giving a false positive, or it might be a genuine fault...in which case your HDD could go at any time. Or it might last for ages. You just can't tell.
If it were me, I would at the very least REGULARLY back up the data to an external drive. You probably are going to end up having to replace the drive, yes, but you might get some wear out of it before it goes. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
On the plus side, at least you get to save your data. Back in the bad old days -not so long ago- they just used to go *plink!* and take all your data with them.
1. Has anyone installed 2Gb RAM memory in a Sony
Hi,
You can only upgrade the memory to 1GB in that model Vaio laptop.
The memory supported is DDR SDRAM which runs at 333MHz. There are 2 memory slots which support 1x512 module in each slot.
I recommend Kingston RAM as the manufacturer.
As for the HDD the laptop supports EIDE (IDE/ATA) hard drive. you can have anything up to 320GB. Seagate are excellent drives as well as Fujitsu.
Regards.
I LOST THE POWER ON MY SONY NR430E .. ITS DEAD?
Hello, Rozalind.
The most common reasons are the power adapter/cord and power jack.
If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.
The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.
If no change, the power adapter is faulty and needs replacement.
Hope this helps.
