Can you locate the physical switch for the wireless on the laptop? If so, turn it off for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. If that doesn't work you may need to reinstall the wireless driver.
When try to boot up it says operating system not
This error comes when your harddrive is not detected properly or some os system files are missing.
For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios then make sure your harddrive is recognized in bios if not then make sure SATA is disable then save settings .Then check.
If still same then you need windows disk or recovery disk to repair your windows missing files.

Sharp Actius AV18 does not recognize added 512MB
I assume the laptop had originally 256Mb RAM and you put 512Mb RAM in a the spare memory slot and you expected to see 768Mb of memory, is this correct?
Try removing the 256Mb memory module and insert the 512Mb memory module and see if the laptop boots up with 512Mb of RAM. If it doesn't boot up then the RAM is either incompatible or faulty.
Try using RAM modules from the same manufacturer.

Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

I am assuming F2 takes you into the bios, sometimes the password can be dissabled in the notebook system settings menu, but try 'oooo' or 'ooooo'.

Do you mean the socket on the laptop where the plug from the adaptor plugs into? If that is damaged it can be replaced by a repair shop and sometimes by a skilled user. The repair typically involves a fairly in depth disassembly of the laptop so the user would need to have fairly decent mechanical aptitude, a good assortment of small screwdrivers and experience handling electronics. If the laptop is still in warranty I would strongly recommend sending it to the manufacturer for repair. It may not be a warranty repair; however, if anyone else takes it apart you will void your warranty on anything else that may go wrong in the future.
