My cd/dvd drive on my
You may need to reinstall the drivers. Open your Control Panel, the double-click on the "Device Manager. In the Device Manager window, look for "DVD/CDROM Drives" (or similar) and click on the little box to the left to view your DVD/CD drive.
Right-click on the drive, and select "Properties." Another window will open, containing several tabs. Click on the "Driver" tab, then click on "Update Driver." You will be given the choice to have Windows "Search automatically" for the driver, or "Browse my computer.."
If you "Search automatically..." Windows will search the Internet for the mlost recent driver, and if it is able to locate one, ask you if you want to Install. Clicking on "Browse my computer" will cause Windows to search your hard drive for the correct driver.
As a last resort, if you received a CD/DVD with your Acer, and you can get a hold of an external CD/DVD drive to connect (via one of the USB ports) you can have Windows search the original software disk and load the driver from that.
Hope this helps :)

The dvd drive does not want to open from my acer
Get yourself a sewing needle or a straight pin and push it in the little tiny hole in the front of the dvd drive. This is a reset button. Push it until the drive opens.
The other option is to go to the drive from your desktop and right click with your mouse on it and choose "eject" from the drop down list. This may work or it may not.

What is DVD Super Multi
Hi,
It means it supports DVD+RW, DVD-RW, DVD+R DL, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM, CD-R, CD-RW
Dual layer DVD's have two data layers stacked on top of each other. So instead of holding only 4.7 gb of data it holds 8.5
Thanks and regards,
Jitha

My computer can't find my dvd drive -- I can open
You should check if it shows up in Device Manager (right click My Computer, Properties and select Device Manager). If it does, then it's a drivers issue and you should try to reinstall the DVD Drive.
If it doesn't show up, then it's a cable connection issue. Maybe the SATA or IDE cable got loose.

No driver Multi super DL
What problem are you having? What error-messages?
If you are using Windows NT or 2000 or XP or Vista or Windows 7, the device-driver for CD-ROM, CD-writer, and DVD-reader/writers is _included_ in the Operating System.
If you need software to help you create/burn CD/DVD/Blu-Ray disks, see:
http://WWW.MajorGeeks.com and search for "AShampoo Burning 6" -- this is _free_ software.

Dvd rw not detecting, not
If you installed the DVD-RW it sounds like the cable may be installed incorrectly or the cable select jumper on the back may be set to the wrong setting (DVD drives are usually set to SL or CS). If the DVD drive is original equipment then it may be faulty or an errant reading by the operating system. You might go into the system BIOS (usually the enter setup option at just after powering the system on) and check the drive status to be sure that the drive is reading at POST (boot time). If the drive shows in the bios, then the problem may be with the OS.
Good Luck

When i play dvd disc
dvd region not supported.... change the dvd region and also change the PAL / NTSC mode... make sure the format you are trying to play is recognizable format for your player... Most of the players will not support certain video formats due to CODEC problems...
