Dodgy contacts in the base unit they get squashed down over time. My fix involves openin base ( anti tamper screws !) Pop open plastic panel - carefully adjust centre copper connectors by moving upwards a few mm so they exert more pressure and create better contact with kettle when it is placed on the stand

I had the same problem after 2 years usage and found the problem to be the contacts between the kettle and base.

• Unplug the base and using a very thin needle file clean the 3 contacts and centre pin carefully. These contacts are sprung metal, so be careful to apply slight pressure in a clockwise direction.
• Next empty and upend the kettle, now use a fine abrasive pad (I used a piece of 'wet and dry' paper) and gently clean the surface of the contact rings.
• Clean away all dusty residue, this should cure the problem.

You don't say how old your kettle is, but if it is less than 1 month, I would go back to the retailer where you purchased. Make sure you have your guarantee or proof of purchase.... Otherwise, going by past experience, kettles that won't stay switched on usually need de-scaling. look its probably broken or some wires under the kettle cover are damaged so you can buy a new cover and then everything will be okay (Y)

that why your kettle not boiling, because of the heating element or your thermal protection is already defective

Water has all kinds of salts and minerals that dry up and settle between the kettle and the lid and thats the problem

try cleaning again and flush it well . we had to hold switch down to boil then flushed with cold water a few times . Then it may work.
