Indicator stays on everything is off

What you have is a temperature switch which remains active after everything is off telling you the surface is hot. When it reaches ambient temp. it should reset and the lights go off ,you probably have a defective sensor .Could check the manual for its position since i am not familar with your brand.

I have a Roper kitchen

The constant indicator light indicates that it is shorted somewhere; perhaps welded contacts in one of the switches. Possibly a bad infinite switch for that burner, or an uninsulated wire making ground contact. Some electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter will have to be performed to find where the short is. If you have any further questions message me back. Please also remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. When oven set over 350 degrees, beeps, gets a F3

Hi,
These are the Roper Fault Codes:
F0 - Control Board Failure - Replace control board (clock).
F1 - Control Board Failure - Replace control board (clock).
F2 - Oven Temperature Is Too High - Check for welded contacts on bake and broil relays. If present, replace control board (clock). For SELF CLEAN models, check door lock operation. Check sensor, sensor harness, and the sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Also check for any causes of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Remember: The oven control board (clock) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature.
F3 - Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD) Open - Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD).
F4 - Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD) Shorted - Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD).
F5 - Control Board Failure - Replace control board (clock).
F7 - Function Key Stuck On ERC - Replace control board (clock).
F8 - Control Board Failure - Replace control board (clock).
F9 - Oven Door Lock Failure - Check door lock switches and wiring. Make sure lock

Since the temperature it too high it shows F2.check the harness first from the clock to the sensor it will also create this F3 error.Test the Thermal Resistor too.In your case 100% temperature sensor is bad you have to replace it or check the harness.

post a comment for further assistance.

Had been having trouble with one or two burners,

did you reset you circuit breaker by shutting it off all the way and flipping it back on? try it. some times a breaker will only trip partiallly.

or its possible you have a bad connection where the power cord hooks up to the range

Roper electric range non stop beeping!

I'm thinking a door switch problem and/or maybe an intermittent keypad connection. Failing that, the electronic control may have failed. We repair oven controls at www.fixyourboard.com.

Self cleaning is done and the macjine keeps

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

There seams to be a lot of heat being released

This is the oven vent. It allows pressure to balance as the oven heatsand cools and helps the oven to remain at a selected teperature. There is no danger, as it is part of the oven design.

No matter what setting we put the burners on they get hot

Your burner switches have gone bad. usually not all go bad at once but one could ahve shorted out and burnt the rest of them up. This will be a pretty costly fix. But you can do it. You can order parts via model number on sears.com

Reinstalling oven door

be exstreamly careful do not put your fingers near the hinge. somehow pull the hinge apart till the stay open and you may see a hole in it, put somethjing like a nail into it to prevent it from snapping closed. then put it into the slots on the oven till they are in the right position then open the door all the way and then just pull out the nails. That is if it is that type of hinge.
