There is no driver for this scanner for Windows 7. Windows 7 Ultimate, however has a Windows XP mode capability and you can use the scanner that way. If your version of Windows 7 doesn't have Virtual PC it is available as an optional extra.

I could not locate a driver for your acer w4300u flatbed scanner as they don't list it on their website, even categorically, there are no scanners listed on their website.

However, there are aftermarket resource on the Internet such as the following:

I read that Acer may have changed their name to Benq, so look for that driver and also Windows Vista or XP is the highest that is supported, but Windows 7 may have drivers when it tries to install with an Internet connection present, or be able to use the older Legacy drivers.

Go to the ACER website and download the Device Driver for the Scanner for your computer and install it.

Do the following:

1. Navigate to http://www.acer.com.au.
2. Click the Service & Support link at the top/left of the screen.
3. Click Driver Download.
4. Select the family from the Product Family list.
5. Select the line from the Product Line list.
6. Select the Model from the Product Model list. (scroll through the list to locate).
7. Select the ARROW next to the word which represents the device in the Driver list that appears.

If the driver is there and you click it, then it should automatically begin to download. Follow any other on screen instructions when it begins to install.

 Please change the your usb cable. and reinstalled same drivers..

it will work and go to the My Computer --> right click--> Manage-->go to the Device Manager click that one it will show the all the computer hardware drivers list..scan for hardware changes..

you'll see the your usd scanner it is detecting. or not..
