Acer N30 PDA charging problem
My PDA n30 is not a year old yet - when I put it to sync and charge everything looks fine but when I unplug it does not stay charged - it blacks out straightaway.
Please help
I have acer n30 pc
This happens when you get new one or after reset. It wants from you, to touch 5 points on the screen to calibrate touch screen.
Start acer without connecting usb cable and calibrate it first.
Acer n30 Screen Tap Freeze
Sounds as if the touch screen membrane is defective, which is a darned nuisance, but not impossible to fix .... if you are confident of dismantling the n30, you can buy a new touch screen membrane from Ebay for about 4 pounds/6 dollars.
It is a very skilful job to remove the old touch membrane from the actual display screen below it, not really for a novice, and all internal components are very delicate, so i suggest you find a tame technician before you buy the new membrane. The touch membrane connects to the motherboard via a tiny flexible 4 or 5 pin membrane ribbon cable, it's a miracle of miniature engineering inside the n30, so do ve very careful if you decide to do it yourself, best of luck!
Acer n30 wlan card
If your router has wireless broadcasting. Check all the settings in your router. Add the MAC address of the WIFI Card to your routers Wireless settings and also maybe in your firewall settings in the networking of your router. Be sure to add the WEP key when you connect to your router. Check your security settings.
Acer n30 will not turn on
Trya hard reset, mine was off for 6+ months and wouldnt charge. After a couple of hard resets - bingo, fully charged battery.
Acer n 30 doesn't make phone calls
do you want to use the N30 over WAP/GPRS, dial-up land land line or a GSM modem. The N30 does not have any kind of modem or cellular capability built-in, only 'blue tooth' so depending on your requirements you will have to obtain a sutable external device. You are not compelled to use a mobilephone hand set though.
My n30 can't charge, but turns on under charging
hi,
I had the same problem so i checked some other forums. I then found the answer. While your acer is plugged in, hard reset it, this switch is on the bottom of the machine. Switch the hard reset
thing to the left for five secs, then back to the right. The green light should start flashing! You just fixed you acer!

Acer n30 problem with expansion slot.
The spring lock needs to be adjusted, you need to open it to make it work again. Although if you want to try a nifty trick I do with cards spitting out in the slot is to put a square-cut electrical tape on both sides of the sd card and it will stay in...
Acer N30 battery problem (even new battery does not last enough)
try checking your power saving options, you can drop down the backlight a little lower to extend battery life. Also you can lower down the volume of the system sound and check if the bluetooth is on, then turn it off. Recharge it and then check if the battery life extends. You also need to occasionally soft-reset the n30
ACER n30 PDA - RENEW THE BATTERY?
There is a lot of very confusing information about this battery pack and PDA - many companies are selling the battery without instructions and many reviewers/users claim that there is no way to replace the battery. Acer makes no mention of this either way and didn't seem too keen to answer the question.
The screws that you mention appear to be the ones as at least one company is selling the battery with a screwdriver included that appears to be the one for the four thin screws. Just make sure there are no other screws hiding under a sticker or similar - running a stylus over any stickers should reveal any potential screws that may have to be removed (almost certainly opening the case will void the warranty if still an issue)
Another company is also selling an "unmarking case opening tool" which is essentially a small plastic spatula - therefore I believe that when the screws are out you should be able to push something gently into the gap between the shells, popping it open - from photos it would appear that the small groove between the shells in the corners are the places to start.
BE gentle and careful with this as the possibility of damage is there, but once one part of the shells start to separate you should be able to see clearer what is holding them together.
If you want a bit more info then try e-mailing these guys;

They should be able to help as they do sell the battery and are well respected.
Hope this helps and good luck :)
- if you are in any doubt about doing it yourself then i recommend finding a repair shop near you, although I cannot believe it is too complicated to open. if there is any confusion about actually swapping the battery once the case is open, please post back with a photo of the inside and I hope we can help, but i think it should be easy enough once you are in - make sure you ground yourself properly and touch as little as necessary when inside.
