If the printer is printing blank pages, make sure you are using the correct printer driver and make sure the paper size is correctly selected in the driver. Also, the print head nozzles may be clogged. From the Utility section found in the EPSON printer driver, print a nozzle check and examine the printed dot pattern. Each staggered horizontal and straight vertical line should be complete, with no gaps in the dot pattern. If there are gaps in the dot pattern, clean the print heads by running the head cleaning utility in the printer driver. Then, print another nozzle check. The nozzle check and head cleaning are recommended to be performed as a cycle in order for the cleaning cycles to be most effective. If there are still gaps in the dot pattern, continue with another cycle. Perform up to 6 cycles if necessary. If the nozzle check is not printing completely, and if the head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, try replacing the ink cartridge. Also, make sure you are using a genuine EPSON ink cartridge which has an EPSON label on top of it. If the EPSON label has been removed from the ink cartridge, do not install the cartridge. Using an ink cartridge which does not have the EPSON label on it may damage the printer. If you have already installed a cartridge which is missing the EPSON label, or if a previously installed ink cartridge was missing its EPSON label at the time it was installed, and now head cleanings do not help the nozzle check pattern to print completely, your printer may require service and you should contact the EPSON Connection for further assistance.

It sounds like the print heads are clogged and need to be flushed. This especially happens to printers that have gone unused for an extended period of time while still loaded with in cartridges. A local technician can probably flush these heads for you.

try removing the cartridge and make sure that the printer looks for it. Then reboot your printer and install the cartridge, if it wont work, try reinstalling your device printer driver. Pm me if these options wont work. i will provide another option. Thank you. :) i hope this works.

If you have cleared any paper jams and checked that the cartridges are seated correctly the next thing to do is unplug the printer and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This will reset the firmware and chip-set to defaults.

Check if the fan on the Op panel side of the machine is running. Ensure the intake on left hand side of machine isn't blocked. Ensure rear vent on right hand back of machine is not blocked.

Have you set up the printer to print wireless? If so, if you have the computer and printer setup to work together, you should be able to turn the printer on and leave it on and print one job at a time. After it prints one job, it will stop and just be ready and waiting for you to send the next job. No need to turn off between jobs.

Was the monitor turned off separately from the computer? The monitor does have it's own on/off switch. If it's all connected to a surge protector both would normally turn off at the same time.

I suggest connecting the ethernet port on your Mac to the router and the router to your printer. You don't mention what printer you have (that would have been helpful) but I'm assuming it is networkable. Otherwise bypass the router and use a USB cable to connect it directly to your Mac in the usual fashion.

Some older scanners are not supported by the newer versions of Apple OSX. This can be a real problem for owners of older printer/scanner equipment and windows 8/10 has driver issues with older equipment also. HP is a great printer or scanner. They make a universal print driver and a universal scan driver which I have installed both in my macs and in my windows machines (I have both OSX and Windows machines at home and at work) The universal scan drivers and universal print drivers may work on your unit. Also you may have to assign your printer a high static IP address and tell the computer and driver where to find it, as sometimes automatic pairing is not possible. Example... Your router IP address is 192.168.1.1 and it passes out DHCP addresses from 50 to 100 (192.168.1.50 to 192.168.1.100). You can assign your printers in the house of office static IP address starting at .201 then .202 .203 etc... Tell the driver you know the IP address and enter 192.168.1.201 and the driver or HP universal driver will find the printer and link up no problem.
