get to the bios boot section
( on starting the computer hold down the delete key until the bios screen shows
in that section you will see boot preference
organize the sequence that the unit will boot from save and esc
so sata hard drive =1
external hard dive =3 etc

sounds like not enough power. have another look at the board, the 4 pin connector should be near the I/O shield near the top of the board, just above or beside the CPU. sometimes it is on the edge of the motherboard (so the plug pins are parallel with the board surface)

No, the chipset doesn't support any newer one. You will have to replace the motherboard also.

1 x AGP 8X
6 x PCI

You could install a PCI video card since AGP cards are getting hard to find....
Your problem could be your system power supply...most of the newer PCI video cards require
500 watt or higher power supplies and your system supply is at most 300 watts

in Italian:

intercettare tutti i cavi del case del PC ed anche il cavo di alimentazione del monitor.
evolversi della batteria del bios quindi attendere per 25 minuti poi collegare tutti i cavi e provare a girare sul vostro PC
1 - con la batteria del bios
2 - senza batteria del bios
dovrebbe funzionare. (questo funziona provocare il reset del BIOS della scheda madre e iniziare di nuovo correttamente).

in English:

intercept all of cables of your PC case and even power cable of your monitor.
evolve battery of bios then wait for 25 minutes then connect all of cables and try turning on your PC:
1- with battery of bios
2- without battery of bios
it should work.
(this works cause the motherboard reset it's bios and start correctly again).

First when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.
If you are able to enter then go to start menu->control panel->display property ->settings.
Change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
But if you are not able to see safe mode and other menu.
Then open cpu cabinet .
Refix RAM memory.
Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes.
Reattach all connection harddrive.
Open processor fan and processor remove dust from all parts.
Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet.
Remove PCI cards if any.
After all above still same then change RAM then try.

You need to set the speed to match your cpu.

It should be set at either 100, 133, 166 or 200.

The multiplier on the cpu will make it match the processor

remove your RAM CHIP and then put it back..sometimes RAM CHIP is not properly inserted.
