ASUS P5GD1-VM Motherboard Questions & Answers
Where is the Caps Lock turn off on the ASUS Eee PC1015PM? I cannot login because of Caps Lock on!
The caps lock on/off is GENERALLY found in the BIOS setup, not any jumper or switch on the m/b. So hook the board up to a keyboard, power supply and monitor, and watch the screen carefully during boot-up. The access key to the BIOS setup is sometimes F2, sometimes F10 and other times DEL, so watch carefully...it doesn't stay on the screen very long. Once you are in the BIOS setup, start digging through the various screens and you'll find the startup cap lock option somewhere. BE CAREFUL HERE!!! I can't emphasize this enough...you could change something inadvertently in the BIOS and the board will not work thereafter. If you have even an inkling that you changed something you shouldn't have, ESC your way out and don't save anything and start over.
Hot
if the computer work good don't worry but you must note the cpu fan speed if it slow you must change it, and you can add a back case fan to reduce the heat
best regards
PC not booting up- no signal, HDD not engaging.
You mentioned that you hear beeps. These beeps gives you the answer of what is the problem. It could be RAM, videocard or maybe the main board itself. It depends on the BIOS that you have (e.g. Phoenix, AMBIOS, etc.) you can see it on the mainboard. You can look on this website on how to identify beep codes:

It might usually the problem of either power supply or your RAM. So make sure you installed them correctly..
"when i start the computer
Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

Forget the pasword
look on your motherboard for a jumper labeled PW or maybe PASSWORD. should be 3 pins. move the jumper to the next pin. fire it up, wait a little, shut down and move the jumper back. the restart. some times you can remove the battery for a few minutes. and sometimes there is a clear CMOS jumper that will do it.
none of these work 100% and it depends what type of password you are talking about. if you have the sales receipt and can prove its yours, the most manufacturers will help for a fee. and there are some programs on the net that claim to help.
