Integrated webcams are not useable with the Windows 7 OS. Windows XP had webcam software that enabled you to use the camera, as does Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. The patch to solve the issue with the integrated webcam using Windows 7 was never resolved... Not to my knowledge anyways. It would always come up with the message that the webcam was "Already in use by another program".

You can try and using a third party application liek driver booster. Driver Booster 3 Free

Go to My Computer (or Computer) and the partition on which is the OS installed has the Windows logo over it (Windows Vista and newer). In most cases the OS is installed on the C: partition.

• Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode. XP only.
• Login as other user (if other user is available) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
• Reformat computer.
• Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html
• Free software option would be Hirens Boot CD. This one is command prompt only. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/ Must follow instructions exactly

try starting ur windows in safe mode. once you logged in do a system restore. it will solve ur problems. if not send me a comment.

The notebook could be overheating.
When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a can of compressed air to do this.

I am trying to do the same thing. Included plastic cd case with original box states to hit the f4 key once averatec logo appears. I tried this along with every other key and nothing brought up the recovery software screen.

try to check the internet settings..maybe all websites are block..

This looks like a hard disk drive problem, I think that you must be hearing a clicking sound. Which means that your hard disk has a lot of bad sectors and eventually they will increase resulting in hard disk failure.
Does your laptop boots, or are you at the last stage.
This can be fixed but its a very complicated and lengthy process, thats why I would recommend you to get a new hard disk or get it repaired by a computer tech. Compare the prices and go for the cheapest one.

They know Averatec's better than anyone else I know, and can frequently diagnose via phone.

My bet is that youmight be able to "reset" or may need a power management board.

Try power up the monitor first then the notebook.
This will automatically switch the video output to the external video port first. If this doesn't work then most likely there is a video card fault.

You could try the "Driver Scan" on their site at http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp, however the search by product system on their website is broken.

Also, you should be able to flash it with BIOS for an MSI U100-641US, which should be easier to find and is exactly the same system as the Averatec 1000.

In 'My Computer', do you see a USB Video Device under 'Scanners and Cameras' ? Have you installed the latest Windows updates (including the optional ones) from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ ?

check the slot and insert suitable RAM in the slot with upgraded memory
