How do i recalibrate the battery on my averatec
Turn off any power saver functions in the control panel, so that the screen and drives run 'forever'. Ensure the screen saver is off, and keep it on until it dies completely. Then plug in the charger over night. If that fails, then it's time for a new battery.

My fans wont power up
your system shutsdown to save your hardware from damage due to hight temperature because the fan is not working. Make sure you connected everything right on your motherboard. to test if the fan is ok try putting it in another entrance on your motherboard, you can find at least two or three place to connect a fan on your board, if all fails check with a friends motherboard, if that fails replace your fans.

No boot up on laptop
Is the fan turning on? If not then it is the power adapter, by the way power adapters have to match exactly before you can make an informed decision about what is wrong...since it does not match then don't buy.change anything. Find an adpater that was the exact Wattage as the old one.

I need to know weather it has an ata or sata hard drive
#1 this is not a generic problem for all Averatec laptops. Would have to know exactly what laptop you have in order to answer your question.
Easier if you just take the old one out and look at it. It will say on the label what it is.

Keyboard Issues/Errors
I would gather that your keyboard has been changed somehow to another country keyboard. Please check in your control panel, keyboard and see if eng usa is selected.
The other suggestion is pressing and holding fn key, num lock key at the same time. You should see a light going off and on when you do this on your system.
If keyboard selected is english, and num lock is off, I would turn your keyboard upside down and give it a good shake. Sometimes a paperclip, or staple gets underneath the keys.

The laptop does not start up
try taking the battery out for 15 or so minutes. plug the lappy into pwr like this and try turning it on.
if this fails hold the pwr button down for approx 15 sec then just push it once.

Cannot restore Operating System files to Averatec 5110p,DVDfail?
If you go into the computer bios you can change the bootorder and then boot from a CD some computers also report in the start to press f12 for boot menu the button may be diffrent so you can select which drive to startup from, just do a fresh install of linux from cd you need to change the boot order or try the boot menu, this is the first thing to try.

When I turn my laptop
As far as you described, someone may have put a password on the CMOS chip so every time you turn on your computer, it will ask you for it.
If you want to clear it, you can try by opening the case of the computer and clear the CMOS values by shorting the Clear CMOS pins. If you cannot locate it then you can unplug the computer and take out the button battery on the motherboard and wait for a few minutes before putting it back in.
If its a laptop then you'll probably have to take it hack to the retailer and get it cleared by manufacturer.
