After a power outage, computer keeps rebooting
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
you could run the check disk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive
hope this helps

My hard drive has gone
Any Brand will do but you need at 3.5 Size hard Drive. It is not like Desktop where you can pop in a Hard Drive.
Once your hard drive is toasted you cannot restart your System.
You have to install the System (OS) from the Start. Once you installed the Hardisk properly with ribbon and power wires.
It is ready to go when you boot for the first time.
Go to EBAY and put the Model. You may want to upgrade the hard drive into more storage. Some used laptop stores they sell Second hand. I think, it is by 100.00 per 100 gig. Lower gig may also be lower price. You can get low one and just add external USB hard drive or pocket hard drive.

Corrupted hard drive
Corrupted how? If it has bad sectors, you will need to replace it. If it's just the data (as will happen if your computer is not shut down properly, for instance), and you are using Windows, chkdsk will get it working again; you can run this by right clicking on the drive in my computer and selecting properties; in there will be something like "check this drive for errors". Do that.
In Linux, the command for that is fsck </dev/volume>.

It wont load windows xp even with the recovery
You may have set the boot priority in the CMOS. If so, enter the CMOS setup and set the priority to "boot from HDD" This may not fix your problem, but it is a start. If it still wants to boot from another source, the HDD master boot record (MBR) is corrupt, or the HDD has failed.

Hello man,
You may contact me on the live chat option on this site and I will gladelly assist. I may need to ask you to take some photos of your laptop and send them to me. This would be the safest way to have the job done.

Wireless connection
The signal may be getting interference, try restarting the router. If this does not work, you may be out of luck.

Averatec 6200 motherbord specifications ? Compatible procesor upgrade with SSE 2 thanks
The Averatec 6200 laptop was released in 2004 and is powered by an AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ processor with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz . The motherboard of the Averatec 6200 is based on the SiS741 chipset. The laptop comes with 512 MB of RAM and a 60 GB hard drive . The laptop's display is a 15.4 inch, 1280 x 800 (WXGA) screen.
As for the processor upgrade, the Averatec 6200 is compatible with processors that support SSE2 2. SSE2 is an extension of the IA-32 architecture, based on the x86 instruction set. Therefore, only x86 processors can include SSE2. The AMD64 architecture supports the IA-32 as a compatibility mode and includes the SSE2 in its specification. This means virtually every modern Intel and AMD CPU supports SSE.

Averatec e1200 laptop i think it caught a virus
Hold the delete button when you turn it on and see if it loads BIOS up. If the screen displays the BIOS OK then you can change the boot sequence to CD/DVD or USB first and do a fresh windows installation. You could also try holding F8 at bootup and try loading safe mode. If this doesn't help it could be a problem with your screen or the wiring going to the screen. Possibly also a problem with the graphics card.
