Altec lansing mx5021 wired controller not working

Sounds like you might have a wire loose at the other side of the controller. This is a easy thing to find out. Just unscrew the side screws that hold the back board to the cabinet. Don't unscrew the screws connected to the speaker wire clips unless the back doesn't come off. Just look for a disconnected wire at the controller jack then put it back. If there is no loose wire then you might have a bent female contact at the outside of the controller jack. You would have to look for this looking into the holes where you plug the cable into the controller jack. If you see a bent contact then use a thin nail of ice pick and insert it into the hole where the bent connector is to try to re open the contact so the cable can slip into it easy. Don't forget to unplug the power first.

My altec lansing mx5021 speakers problem

The problem I have found is the contact glue between the back panel and circuit board inside the sub woofer. The glue becomes conductive after some time (2 years..!!) and needs to be scraped away from across tracks, you can tell the problem areas as the glue is pale yellow but goes brown and conductive over time. Good luck.Regardsaj

Screws included for wall mounting don't fit (Altec Lansing MX5021)

They do fit but the hole in the speakers are very small so you have to apply a bit of force to screw them in.

Windows update disconnected my Altec Lansing BX2

I had a similar problem with my Altec Lansing BX2 speakers. When bringing my HP PC out of "Sleep Mode" (Windows 7), I either had a blank screen with only a cursor or a desktop with no start menu, desktop icons or any means to operate the computer. After unplugging the speakers and hard booting the computer, the PC returned to normal operation. I'm looking for a solution myself.

Hi My speakers are acting

if you are having problems with your sound if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the (((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps

No audio from input plug? but when I turn the unit

unplugged the input plug from your pc, turn on the power on your speaker, set the volume at about 2 o'clock, touch the tip of the input plug with your bare finger( don't worry you will not be electrocuted, no dangerous voltage is present on these part) you should hear a hum, or better yet plug it on your I-Pod, if you don't hear a sound, chances are the chip inside is busted. Qualified technician required or have the whole unit replaced. hope this helps ;-)

Hello, have you got any headhones? If yes, then plug them into your laptop and play a cd or run something from youtube...can you hear any sound?
Do you have a portable radio or mp3 player? If yes, plug your speakers into the earpiece socket on either one of them...you will be able to get sound out of them if they are working. This is a good test of your loudspeaker system as the output from a radio or mp3 player is of a similar level as that of a pc or laptop soundcard.
Let me know how you get on,..and don't forget to vote!
