Dear Sir/Madam, To dismantle the Alternator: End Plate and Windings: 1. Remove the End cover and note (or better take a picture) of the wiring layout. 2. Undo the engine mounts from the frame and raise the alternator with a block of wood so the mounting studs are free. 3. Undo all wiring and remove the brushes. 4. Undo the 4 outer bolts holding the alternator together. 5. Using a second piece of wood and a hammer, hit the inside of the outer casing where the 4 bolts were attached. Hit opposites (a bit like on a car fitting a car tyre) until the end casing comes free. DO NOT SPRAY OIL DURING THIS PROCESS AS MAY HARM THE ALTERNATOR WHEN NEXT FIRED UP. The windings should also drop off during this process, slide off and place carefully in a safe place. To Remove the Rotor: Only do this if you require the Rotor off the Generator! Due to the design the rotor gets tightened onto the crankshaft with the turning of the engine, so they can get stuck pretty solid! There are a few ways to remove the Rotor (Armature). It sounds like your fuel mixture is too lean, closing choke is richening the mixture, by closing off air

Sounds like a weak spring on the governor

Drain out the overfilled crankcase do not run this engine like this, you can lock up the engine.

Voltage regulator, carbon buildup in the cylinders, the carburetor may need overhauling, engine governor may have a stretched spring, Spark plug may need replacing, Timing may be off, air filter may need changing, and lastly, your load may exceed the ability of the generator.Checking this list will uncover the loss of power

If you filled the fuel tank with gasoline enhanced with ethanol the fuel may be bad and caused the carburetor to gum up. Also Honda engines have a low oil sensor and from your description of the oil, can cause problems with the sensor and the engine won't start. Try changing the oil first and then adding a small engine gasoline additive that helps with stale gasoline starting problems.

The minimum wattage needed to start a air-conditioning unit is usually 3000 watts but there can't be anything else at all using power at the time. If this is on an RV there are components such as the refrigerator, water heater, power inverter and house battery charger that will automatically start when the RV is connected to the generator. These may need to be manually shut off sometimes at the main power box.

it appears to be insufficient fuel flow to the carby check for blockages in the tap , lines , tank filter, needle and seat area

I know it's not a honda, but my generac governor went out, had to take it to a repair shop (still under warranty) they showed me the problem was the pin had snapped, u may have to "bite the bullet" and have a small engine repair tech do it. Its not easy to get to.

Check the igni system

Type maker, model, user manual in computer search engine. It will bring up sites to get user manual. In the manual, there is a wiring diagram

Use carb cleaner and spray cleaner into carb to clean. For preventative maintenance use SeaFoam fuel system cleaner.

S.A.E grade 10w-30 multi grade oil its recommended from 60F and up. For temp lower than 60F use the 20W oil if its a new Gen(first operation). replace oil after 20Hr. Other than that in normal working environment replace oil evry after 100Hr. Dusty area shorten the time of replacing oil and cleaning air filter. remember not replace hot oil or if the Gen runing !!

The first thing I would do is drain out the old fuel and put in fresh.
