Cant make the printer stop in the middle to take the ink out

You need to make sure the printer has been on for at least 2-5 minutes so it can finish it's startup procedures. Then just lift the lid and wait for it to position itself so you can disengage the cartrage tray by moving the lever up. If the printer is not doing this for you, then there is something wrong with it and you can try unplugging the power for the printer when the cartrage gets close to the middle when it moves. Best of luck.

Ip1500 showingjam when there is no jam

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

How to remove the ink

Hi

Please follow the mention below instruction.

1 Open your printer 2 To protect hands from Ink wear thin latex (or similar) gloves 3 Locate the Waste Ink Pads on the inside of your printer. They are on the right hand side
and are quite small.

4 You can remove the pads and the holder with a gentle pull.

5 Using a tissue, soak up as much ink as possible and clean the area around the waste

ink area.

6 There is one more waste holder in the right back bottom of the printer. A kind of

sponge. There are few screws and plastic parts to be removed and this sponge needs to be

washed, dried and placed again. Be careful and patient. This is no understatement. On the

iP1500 this requires the dismantling of most of the printer. Take a photograph (even with your

cell phone) so you can trace back your steps. On the iP1500 the drive motor on the side (Just

behind the waste ink pads) has to be removed to get to the main sponge. You also need to

take care as you lift the slide/carriage. Below this you find 5 little springs.

7 Carefully replace the holder and the pads. Close printer.

8 Whilst printer is disconnected from the mains power, press and hold the power button

and reconnect to ac power.

9 Release the power button.

10 Press the power button again.

Thank

Remove first the cartridges from the printer. Using a cloth moistened with alcohol, clean the surface contact of the cartridges where terminals from inside the printer connects.

Return back the cartridge after cleaning then turn on the printer.

It would probably be more expensive to repair this printer than to buy a new one, so I will advise you to find another printer rather than repair this one. There are probably some broken parts inside the printer.

The control buttons contiually blink

Welcome to Fixya

Sounds like the ink waste tank is full. Try to clear the error by following the procedure below:

Unplug the printer from the wall. Hold the On button down and plug it back in (the one light will come on). Release the On button and then push it on. The printer will come one and it clears the Waste Ink indicator.

I have a pixma 1500

Apparently, when grayscale printing is selected, some color ink is still used which is why you are getting a pinkish gray color instead of just gray. Here are instructions for solely using the black ink tank.

Print using pigment black ink only (Windows)
Instructions to print using only the pigment black ink tank only. Occasionally you may need to print using black ink only. Using grayscale alone does not provide this option and the color inks will still be used. By following this procedure you may print using only the pigment black ink tank.

Note: Some color ink will still be used for print head maintenance.

Note: Image quality may be sacrificed when printing photographs.

Open the Properties / Preferences window for the printer.

For Windows 7
Click 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Devices and Printers .'
Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences...' from the menu that appears.

For Windows Vista
Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then click on 'Printers'. Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.
Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences...' from the menu that appears.

For Windows XP Home Edition
Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel,' 'Printers and Other Hardware,' and 'Printers and Faxes.'
Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences...' from the menu that appears.

For Windows XP Professional Edition
Click 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Printers and Faxes.'
Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Printing Preferences...' from the menu that appears.

For Windows 2000/ Me/98 (if applicable)
Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Settings,' then 'Printers.'
Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Properties' from the menu that appears.

Click on the Main tab.

Select 'Plain Paper' as the Media Type. If any other paper type is selected, color ink will be used to create black.

Ink absorber full

I disagree with the advice at printerhelp.me.uk. It is not simple to clean out the ink absorber, but it is certainly possible. First, disassemble the printer, 3fb11e6.jpg then remove and squeeze out the pads of the approx 60 ml (1/4 cup) of condensed ink therein, then rinse them out with water and allow them to dry. Later, reassemble printer and perform a reset as per other articles on this site and others, or use downloadable resetting tool.

As others have pointed out, Canon and other companies are doing a service to us through the error message. If we don't clean the pads, eventually the ink would overflow and leak onto our desks. However, that would probably require 150% of the actual time or ink flow that they have used to activate the alarm.

Printer says paper jam error 6000 - how do I clear

Hello thanks for using fixya

Error 6000 actually a line feed error, with the problem originating from the timing disk film or the printer's logic board.
To solve this problem:

Check the timing disk film or Check the feed roller if is there any foreign body, remove it softly
Timing disk film is located at the left side of the printer, look at the picture given below to identify it.
