Canon i9900 blinking three orange / jam
I had the same problem with my i9900 - 3 orange flashes on the the error light (Paper Jam) and yet I could slip a sheet of paper in and it would feed through OK. My problem is that the SPRING on the PAPER SENSOR had come off, leaving the sensor in the where it would be if there was a paper jam.
You have to REMOVE the main cover of the printer to find and fix this problem You have to find all of the release points (look for triangles on the plastic covers) where you insert a small tool/screwdriver to (1) press 1 release each side & remove the 2 silver end panels, (2) press 1 release to remove the control switch & carefully disconnect the two connectors inside. Start with the triangle rlease on the lower front left of the main cover, then 1 on the left side, 3 on the back, 1 on the right side, and finally 1 on the lower front right side and gently lift the whole cover off.
You can then look inside with a flashlight from the top rear just behind the left side paper feed roller and see a small switch which pivots when paper is fed through the printer. Feed a sheet of paper and see if the spring is returning it to the normal (no jam) position. I used a long pair of tweezers to reach inside and slip the spring back into its normal position which is behind the small slot on the far right side of the switch. No pictures, but it should be intuitive where the spring should go. Once reinstalled, the switch will move back to the normal position and your paper jam should be fixed.
This SAME MECHANISM is also used in a number of other Canon i & ip series printers so this general approach to fixing this in other models could be the same - (1) remove the cover, (2) locate the switch, and (3) put the spring back into the correct positiion.
My canon i9900 is offline
It usually means that the printer is off, not connected to your computer or your computer does not recognize it. If your computer doesn't recognize your printer, go to control panel and click on add new hardware, then follow the directions . After trying all the above try using your printer once again.Good luck!
How to change print head on canon i9900
It is held in by a retaining lever on the top of the transport carriage. It is the lighter gray plastic piece on top. Follow it horizontally across to the right and the level to flip it up is on the right side of the transport towards the top. Just grab it and flip it up and then remove the print head assembly.
Cannon get printer to come
Hi
Try disconnecting from power source for a few minutes and reconnecting and see if it turns on. Did you check thoroughly the power outlet, to make sure power is being supplied? (to check just plugin in something that's working into the outlet to see if it functions). If not, If you're sure everything is all setup properly (ie. cables, main power switch [if any], nothing stuck inside the printer that you can see) and it still doesn't work, something probably malfunctioned internally. In that case you'll have to contact Canon about it if you're still within your warranty. If not, bring it in to a shop. Hopefully they can fix it.
Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept the solution.

I9900 canon printer: does not
General NO POWER troubleshooting:
- Try a different known working power outlet (direct to wall preferred)
- Try a different power cable (may not be possible if the cable is attached to a power brick)
- Does it power on (makes some noise) but no lights display or simple no power at all,
if no power and the first two steps still lead to no power next step would be to replace the power supply and or the power plug connector (depending on the PSU)
if it makes noise when you power up but no lights the printer may still be functional but the control panel is damaged
Cannon i9900, power light is
Come back to me with the flash sequence of both lights. that tells you what is wrong. Its more accurate than any error code.
My Canon i9900 is not
Try to use the clean option, you can find it in the printer preferences.
If it doesn't work, the black cartridge could be empty, try to change it.
DON'T POWER ON
Hello,
if it does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.
This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.
To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.
Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.
I wish you the best of luck.
Take care.
Canon I9900 self test
You might be able to initiate the self test by powering it off first. Then, when you power it on, hold the power button down for 5 to 10 seconds continuously. In many cases, that will start the self test to run, But hold the button down for 5 to 10 seconds without letting it up at all, upon turning it on.
