Devices: Canon CanoScan FB330P/FB630P Color Flatbed Scanners

Check pages 22-23 of this copy of your Canon Canoscan 630P Product Guide.

You'll need an "IBM-type" parallel printer cable - with a DB25 on each end, and your computer will also need to have an "IBM-type" DB-25 parallel printer port.

What the Canon Product Guide fails to mention is that this "IBM-type" printer cable is a kluged Centronics parallel printer cable, but became so popular (on older computers - your laptop may not have this port), that it got an IEEE standard: IEEE 1284 (with DB25 connectors on both ends).

You'll need a DB25-to-DB25 M/F cable, meaning DB25 connectors on both ends, with a Male on one end, and a Female on the other end.
The Male DB25 will plug into the Female DB25 connector on your computer/laptop, with the Female DB25 going to the FB630P Color scanner..
Here are some pictures/pricing:

The nice thing about the design of the Canon FB630P Color Scanner is that the scanner also has a Female DB25 Printer port for an existing parallel printer, so when you connect an FB330P/FB630P to your system, your existing parallel printer is daisy-chained through this port - so you needn't give up you printer (to scan), nor must you install another parallel printer port onto your PCI-bus tower PC to keep your printer.

Most modern printers are USB-attached to laptop systems, so you may need an adapter, an example of which is seen here:

There are no available drivers for win 7. I suggest you to use the winXP drivers (compatible for win98, 2000, vista etc) here is a link to download the latest version at any language you wish. After the download finish extract the downloaded zip file, right click at the s14a_enx fil, choose properties and go at the compatibility tab. Check the box for compatibility with win XP sp 3 and hit apply - ok. Run the s14a_enx fileand follow the on screen wizard. In case installing the drivers this way won't solve the problem, sorry to said, but you need a new win 7 compatible scanner.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

i loss my adapter

Canon CanoScan... | Answered on Jun 24, 2010

It DOESN'T have to be a Canon adapter but it MUST have the SAME VOLTAGE AND CURRENT, and have the same connection at the end.

Off the top of my head, I'd say this is typical virus behavior.....or, less likely, you're having a bizarre memory problem like a byte went bad in a memory DIMM. A more serious hardware problem is less likely....it wouldn't cause uniform program problems....if your sound card went bad, Word would start but Media Player would probably fail to start. Since you can get on the internet, go to Trend Micro and download their Administrator Command Line anti-virus. It's free, they don't advertise it, and it rocks. First download this file to a new folder on your desktop.
carat.gif Sysclean Package 2.2MB px.gif Then download the Virus pattern from here lpt277.zip (AS/400, S/390, Windows) 4.9MB Unzip the pattern file to the folder you made. Open the folder and double-click "Sysclean.com" There's no installation....a window will open....just press the "Scan Now" button....or "Go" or whatever it is....I can't remember. If you have a slow computer with a lot of files it could take a hour or two to scan. Just let it go until it's done. It will repair every infected file it can, or it will delete the file..

commen fait t'on pour le faire marcher sur l'ordinateur s'il est installer

Canon CanoScan... | Answered on Jun 23, 2008

the cause is that usb cable supplies power to scanner(there is no power cable) and therefore can not be much long, plug the original cable from scanner directly to USB port in your PC and it will be working correctly. If you use additonal cable to connect scanner to your pc you wil get the error code
