Use a blank sheet of paper (as white and clean as possible). Put it in the scanner landscape ( you will need to cut off about 1/2 inch of the paper to make it fit. The run the DR-3080CII Shading tool (DR3KUserSh.exe) C:\Program Files (x86)\Canon Electronics\DR-3080CII\DR3KUserSh.exe

The Canon DR-3080C is only color on the front side. The back side is monochrome only. The next model, which was the DR-3080CII will do double sided color scanning

Hey!

If you lift up the cover you will see 2 sets of roller,try cleaning them with a damp cloth and one at the bottom too,if that fails you can replace them and it is not expensive!

Please check if you have installed 'Driver' without which the Comp cannot recognise the SCanner. (Driver is the software interface when two hardwares are connected).

A scanner will jam for any number of reasons: It's dirty, the wrong paper type is being used, or the rollers on the scanner that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes, but thuis are not the the problem, it means the roller is worn out and will need to be replaced.

Take care.

Check the brightness setting. Try keeping at close to the maximum and scan. If it is still black, may be the lighting module or Scan module is affected. Check for any loose connections.

Yes, clean the glass with Isopropyl alcohol. DONT use solvents. For emergency you can use 'aftershave', but ensure you dont spill it on the rollers. S. Mohan

The thick line is either because of dust sticking to the glass or a module problem. Try different brightness settings and scan white paper. If the thickness varies and also the sides of the black strip are jaggered (step like) then it is dust on Glass. use isopropyl alcohol to clean, dont use solvents. If the teickness is same for all levels of brightness and has a sharp edge always, it could be scan module problem.

I presume you have installed the driver software. Download captureperfect ver 2.0 from Canon site and you can choose setting of your choice before scanning. It is very easy and user friendly.

I think this is rubber roller problem. Obviously, the scanner cannot find out which is the last page. If the paper available is less, the roller is not pulling the last few sheets.

Is the document tray raising? If that is okay, then clean the rubber rollers with a damp cloth. If worn out replace.

It is dust on the glass, clean it thoroughly. You will find it at the same location for all drawings and may get faded for lower brightness!

Please ensure that the rollers are clean and within its life span. (Rollers wear out and need to changed after 250,000 pages or as recommended by mfr). FAn the pages before scanning, Ensure the edge is trim with no folds or bends. The griniding noise is because the scanner has picked up more than one page.

Ensure the rollers are clean. Clean with with a damp cloth or with IsoPropyl Alcohol (IPA Industrial Grade). Dont use solvents. Check if the papers are sticky. Sometimes stapled documets are held together at the point where is it was stapled. The small 'depression' is enough to hold two papers together.
