This is most likely to be caused by one of the following:

1. The head driver circuit and transistors are overheating – very common problem with dot matrix printers.
2. The power supply for the head has a problem and fails on prolonged demand causing the voltage or current to drop
3. The main power supply has a problem and fails on prolonged demand causing the voltage or current to drop

Make sure there is sufficient airflow inside the unit and that nothing is blocking the cooling paths or vents.
Check that the matrix head is firmly attached and that the pins are not obstructed. If the paper setting is set incorrectly the head can do much more work than it should and sustain pin damage which in turn causes issues with driver circuitry.

You need the Windows XP driver for The Compaq A-1000 printer. Which is necessary as well as up so 15245 for all printer features.

This maybe a problem with the software inside the tower. You will need to check some settings as well. please follow instruction below.
1. Click on START
2. Type REGEDIT on the search bar on START Menu on the Run Box
3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4. Expand SYSTEM
5. Expand CurrentControlSet
6. Expand Control
7. Expand Class
8. Click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
9. Look for the Upper Filters / right click on it / click on Delete
10. Look for the Lower Filters / right click on it / click on Delete
11. Restart PC
12. Try you CD / DVD ROM
If nothing happens, click on this link then click on RUN and follow the steps, then restart computer and try to run a disc again, if still nothing happens, theres a possibility that the problem is with the hardware side or the media player that you are you using...

Try reseating the ink cartridge. Maybe, the cartridge is not seated properly.

Here are the simple steps:

1. Lift the control panel by holding the panel along the top edge.
2. Pull the control panel forward.
3. Lift the ink cartridge access door. for better access, stow the document input tray away. the carriage will move to the center.
4. Then, try reseating the cartridge. Hold the ink cartridge by the black
areas or colored top only.
