First try a different mouse and see if you have the same problem. Have you tried unplugging and replugging the mouse in? If you have the problem isolated to the mouse just replace it as a replacement only costs 10$ at any store like walmart or office store.
Thank you,
Lee
I HAVE SPILL TEA ON LABTOP NOW MOUSE IS NOT
that is quite the spill! First power off and unplug the mouse.
if the spill was low and the lense on the mouse if fouled, then a quick wipe with a wet windex or achol on a towel will clean the lense. if it is not and was a heavey spill then you may need a Q tip to lightly clean the laser/LED. If this was on top of the mouse and it shorted out unless you are talented at a solder iron, just toss the mouse and get a new one.
If the photo above is incorrect such as it is a wireless mouse then you can take out the batteries, clean the contacts with an achol swab and if there are any screws on the mouse take them out and put the whole mouse in a zip lock of rice. this generally only works if it is fresh and the rice can take out the moisture. if its old try it but throw out the rice when your done, it not worth the contamination of possible battery acid.
PS try new batteries too as they could have shorted but again this is if it was a wireless.
Non responding wireless mouse and keyboard
mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the mouse itself is faulty, if the right button when depressed returns to position and you hear the familiar click, and you don"t hear that from the left button, then the mouse itself is faulty, ask Dell to send another mouse, it should be on warranttee with your new computer.

My DEll mouse stops working when it feel like it.
Try your mouse in different USB ports, if it works well in the other ports then you know your original port is bad. If the mouse still acts up, then go ahead and try another usb mouse in the computer. If the 2nd mouse is working then you know the original mouse is bad. If the 2nd mouse is not working then you know that the usb ports on your motherboard are bad.
My mouse won't allow me to right or left click
often times with cheaper usb plug in mouses the problem is not with the mouse at all.
its usually that there are problems within your computer and its refusing to aknowaledge the hardware that the mouse is trying to register to be able to work
