well there is a couple things going one, first 50C means it is a cartirage problem, if you recently refill your ink cartilages, and waited for the cartilages to be super low, there is a fuse inside the electronic board that blows and it not fixable, dell is not right, there printer cartilages are made so you cant refill them, if you wanna bypass paying a fortune for replacements ones thru dell, go buy the lexmark brand ones that are the same looking as the dell ones, cut off the top part of you dell ones, and put those on your new ones, also you can only fill the dell ones 3 maybe 4 times before the electronic reader goes bad. try ot check on the ink tanks.. for all in ones.. the magenta color is different tank.. it has also yellow.. and others...

first uninstall the driver ..remove the cable then restart then re-install the driver ...connect the USB cable after that ...

You don´t tell us enough about your problem to allow us to help you much (What are you doing? What happens when you try to scan? Is there any message? Can you otherwise use your machine? What OS is your computer running? Which driver/software have you installed?)

Please try to check if your have installed the printer driver correctly or completely then try to see if you have installed the driver that supports the current operating system.

Please try to unplug all cables connected in your printer to your computer and wait for 20 minutes then plug the cable back and turn on your computer. Make sure that you have installed your printer driver before correctly and make sure that your driver is supported with your operating system.

Unplug the printer from the wall. Also remove the power brick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages you get from the printer. Plug everything back in and power on the printer. Take out the Dell black cartridge and reseat it. Put it back in and do the same for the color cartridge. When you close the printer it should try to print an alignment page.

Make sure the contacts where the cartridge goes in are clean. A cloth dampened with water should be all right. You might also try installing a different cartridge. If that doesn't solve your problem, then your printer has an internal problem.

the error 50 c means either a cartridge fgone bad or the carrrier inside the printer gone bad .,

possible reason ., : having intalled faultly cart . if u got  refilled cartridge ., then contact retailer ., 

if got a new cart from dell ., call them @ 18006249896 and get a replacement cause the carts have 2 yr warratny on them ., make sure u call them along with the order # of ur purchase .

most importantly : 

u need to know which cart is causin the problem : black or the color ., 

try one cart at a time ., if both the cartridges have the same problem ., the n repalce the printer or the cartridges .

If the system is detecting your printer, make sure the driver for the printer is windows vista driver for your printer.if not, download the vista driver for your printer from the printer manufacturers web site.
