The photoconductor kit is another word for the drum or imaging drum. All three words refer to the same part.

Here is a link from the Dell site for this model.

Once you replace the drum, the printer has to be manually reset. If this is not done, the printer will continue to give this print out. By resetting it, the counter is set back to zero. The drum is good for around 30k prints.

From the Online Manual for the 1700, to reset the counter:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/1700n/en/index.htm#online_documentation

To reset the counter, press and hold the Cancel button until all lights flash in sequence.

NOTICE: Resetting the imaging drum's counter without replacing the imaging drum may damage your printer and void your warranty.

1) Every printer uses a paper sensor which is used to feed paper into the printer and if that sensor gets blocked by some dust particles, it tends to create some issue in the connectivity.

2) If the printer does not locate the paper, it means the paper is not fed into the input tray. So, make sure that you remove it and clean the sensor to solve the issue.

3) Check the control panel for the error message and the issue is resolved.

1) Turn on the printer and hold the resume button. Keep holding the button until it stops blinking and they begin to flash with a sequence.

2) After holding them, release the cancel button to reset the printer. After doing this, the printer gets resetted completely and the flashing lights stops.

1, There are several reasons that cause your Dell 1135n printer to be in offline mode. It might happen if the software is being updated on your computer, a connection issue might be present between your printer and computer.
2, A firewall or software is causing a communication problem. To resolve this error, open the Control Panel and locate the Device Manager Settings on your computer. Navigate to the USB's controller menu and select the plus symbol to open the list. Right-click on the USB Root Hub and choose Properties from the tool box.
3, Click the Power Management tab and uncheck it next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option. Restart your PC. If the issue did not resolve, update the printer firmware.

Most larger printers like yours have an optical sensor that needs to have the paper pass by in order for it to send the "sent" signal. If the paper doesn't trigger that you get the paper jam error. look at this page http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/47953#1 it will tell you what and where to check for your problem. It has photos and videos. I hope this helps some.

All flashing lights for the Dell 1700 series (1700, 1710, 1720 including those that have n or dn as part of the model) printers is a service related error. When double pressing the continue button twice quickly, the printer will give a secondary error code, narrowing down the printer part being effected. It is possible to even narrow the error code down even futher by double pressing the continue button and taking note of which combination of lights come on, wether they are steady or blinking. Most generally when this series of printers, when you get all flashing lights, something major is going on with the printer. It could be pointing to the fuser, or main board, etc. You can call dell warranty support and they will help narrow down which part is being effected. Most generally, what is being effected is not cost effective to get fixed if you are no longer under warranty.
