I have attempted to refill
Hello annmike,
I generally stay away from refill kits for quality reasons, that said there are a few things you can try.
1. remove cartridge, and place back in. (reseating)
2. while cartridge is in place, unplug printer, then plug back in.
3. clean the contacts on carriage with a cloth(minimal amount of lint)
4. clean the copper colored strip on the cartridge it self with a small amount of water on a cloth
Paper drags to the right
Sounds like you might have a small piece of paper stuck in the paper path that is causing it to feed incorrectly. Check the paper path.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

See if you can reinstall the printer. Try deleting the printer in the control panel and then reinstalling it. Also try plugging it into another USB port.
Do I need a special paper for this printer?
no not necessarily. I suggest you align your printer tray in such a way that it will instantly insert the paper and print it successfully. Otherwise the problem is maybe the unit itself or the drivers..

First, remove the ink cartridges and make sure you removed the protective plastic cover. DO NOT force anything. If it doesn't just slip right off, its not the cover. If it still doesn't work, uninstall, and reinstall the drivers for the printer.
How can I use my
Nope, It will almost definitly not work with your macbook. I have a macbook pro and a dell photo printer and there is no way I could get them working together. Dell does not seem to care about mac users. The installation CD for their printers do NOT work with mac os, only windows. An apple rep advised me to try using some of the laptops built in drivers, but i still couldnt get it to work. Short answer, maybe give it a try before buying another printer, but most likely you are not gonna be able to use your dell printer with the macbook. sorry, I wish dell would change their position on this issue as well.
When a print request is submitted, the printer
This is probably when the ink is completely dry or the printing head needs a total re-adjustment.
If you have noticed any fading in the prints of this printer before it started printing blank pages, then your printer is most probably suffering from a case of low printing ink and as a result, it would need to be replaced or refilled so as to enable the printer to function properly.
On the contrary, there is still a possibility that the printing head of the printer might have gone off the designated surface where it should be so as to endorse the prints on the paper.
If this is the case, you might need to call a technician to help you examine it carefully and put it back in place.

here. They may work with Windows 7. If not, you'll need to replace the printer with a later, Windows 7 compatible one.

Have you taken out the tape (which protects the pad from drying up) from the new cartridge which covers the ink pad before fixing the new cartridge? If not done do so now.
