Try cleaning and putting a small quantity of oil the shiny metal bar that the print heads slide along. Take care not to get any oil on the rubber drive belt. Any thin oil for sewing machines or bicycles will do, even WD-40 or 3-in-1 on a tissue is fine. This is probably too late for the questioner, but someone may find it useful.

the matter is that Epson, apart from the chips was invented so that when the printer takes a certain amount of printed pages (about 8000 or so, in most models), suddenly stops working , the two buttons start to flash and does not walk more.

The driver for this printer comes with Windows 7. Use the "Add a Printer" wizard from Win 7 to install. After that, it should print fine.

Can I please get a better description of the failure.

Right now all I can infer is that you have a Epson 1200 installed and set up as your default printer.

You appear to have defined letter size is your preferred page size. On the Epson printer, but you have not defined what the failure is and to which printer the data is being sent to,

Is the HP even an issue in this problem? Please let me know what printer you are printing to and what are you expecting the printout to look like.

Ok try to connect your printer to other computer running xp. Load the driver. Then load this program see link.

You gonna use the third party software to reset the printer counter back to zero. But be sure that your waste bin could not overflow.

I think some newer model of unit with OS X can dual boot or run with Windows Xp but the first one is the sure thing.

have you tried to replace the ink cartridge?
if ink cartridge is new yet it's not printing, try to print a test page by going to Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes, then right click on the printer icon with a check mark on it, select properties.. then click on "Print test page".. if it prints or loads a paper but it's blank, then it means the printer is working, it may have run out of ink..

If it doesn't print, or doesn't load a paper, most likely there's a problem with the software for the printer.. you may have to re-install the printer drivers..

Well you certainly covered all troubleshooting that needs to be done and if head cleaning can´t do it -> you got to open it or have it serviced.

Not really cordless wifi, you are connecting to the router or office network using a network cable. There would be ways around it using a powered wifi access point hub to the printer and use that to wirelessly connect to the router, but probably not cost effective.
