Did you try cleaning the decoder strip? It is located behind the print head, looks like the tape inside a cassette tape. If it has ink splatter or a smudge on it carefully wipe it down with a paper towel (damp). It may be easier to remove it, careful not to stretch the little spring on the left side.
2200 locked up
disconnect the printer from the computer - power off printer - check for obstructions / torn papers - power on
if paper light is still on/flashing and pressing it does not do anything - you got a hardware issue - call manufacturer for reccomendation
this might help also -

Print is right when preview is very magenta (like 40 pts magenta)
This sounds like a calibration problem. The first thing I would try is to un-install the driver, download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website then reinstall the new software.
I'm not familiar with the drivers of this printer but look to see if there is a printer/monitor calibration area try the settings there.
The other obvious place to look in is the software you are printing from. Try printer/Monitor calibration in the help menu
Print head
compassmicro.com carries printheads for the stylus 2200 and if you take look around the dtgamerica.com website you might find a video on how to do the job.
Good luck Rebecca

i would start with "holding both paper and ink buttons then powering on untill the paper light flashes and then holding the ink button for 10 secs"

Printing CD's is not a 2200 thing, it is the province of the R series.
Printing lables is easy purchase CD labels and suitable CD print software - A kit including labels software and label applicator is available at many computer stores
Other labels- download the Avery-Dennison free lable software.

Look closely at the marks on the print, and in particular the distance between the lines. Now look into the printer through the paper exit path. Take note of the metal star wheels.
Does the distance between the lines match that of the distance between the star wheels? If so then the plate that the start wheels are mounted into may have dropped.
You can remedy this by gently lifting the plate back up by hand. Set the machine as if you where going to print a CD and simply lift the start wheel plate at each end. Do not force it or apply too much pressure. Ease it up and then try it again. If it needs more adjustment repeat and check again.
If the marks appear to be caused bu ink on one set of rollers or another, pass a really thick piece of card (like off the back of an A4 refill pad) through the paper path. Spray the rollers with a cleaning solution or windowlene (windex) and then pass the card through. This will help to clean off any ink. Again you can repeat this process as neccessary.
Let us know if this helps before rating - if it does not I may have more info
EPSON STYLUS RX 520 HAS AN ERROR E-91
The error E-91 on an Epson Stylus RX 520 indicates a communication problem between the printer and the cartridge. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove all the ink cartridges and check for any damage or leaks. Replace any damaged or leaking cartridges.
- Clean the metal contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure they are completely dry before reinserting the cartridges.
- Reinstall the ink cartridges and make sure they are properly seated.
- Turn on the printer and see if the error message still appears.
If the error message persists, try resetting the printer by following these steps:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Hold down the "Stop" and "B&W" buttons while plugging in the power cord.
- Keep holding the buttons until the printer starts to initialize.
- Release the buttons and wait for the printer to finish initializing.
- Try printing again to see if the error message is resolved.
If none of these steps work, there may be a hardware issue with the printer and it may need to be serviced by a professional technician.
