I just ordered/received the filter apparatus that

The filters on a Dyson DC07 dont go inside the clear bin. There are 2 filters in this machine the first which is your washable filter is on the lower right side of the vacuum, if your facing the front of the vacuum. to remove this filter you push on the purple fiter catch button and lift up on that filter area then your filter will be in there. the only other filter is your permanate Hepa filter. which sits under neath the clear bin assy but that should almost never be removed. if you do need to the are 3 spots on the gray plastic lid. you take a flat head screw driver and gently slide it in the slots starting with the sides and then moving to the one in the middle in the front and then you just get under the lip and pop it up. and then you can access that filter. but again that is a permanate filter. it should not have to be replaced. and it can never be washed.

How do I clean the vacuum?

Hi there, You can clean your DC07's outer casing by wiping it with a damp cloth. The clear bin can be washed, but do not attempt to wash or submerge the cyclone assembly. The filter should also be washed every 3-6 months - use cold water without detergent. Leave to dry in a warm place for 12 hours - do not dry the filter in a tumble dryer, microwave, oven or near a ***** flame. Ensure the filter is completely dry before replacing it in the machine. For guidance on doing this, please refer to the video below. If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson, please get in touch with us directly - you can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).Kind regards,JackDyson Online Customer Support

I have a Dyson DC07

Dear Chris, I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. Like most Dyson cleaners, your DC07 is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the cleaner if it starts to overheat. This is often due to a blockage, or because the filter needs a wash. Although you've already checked for blockages, you might want to take a look at our online support guide, to make sure you haven't missed anything: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-ANIMAL under normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergents, and allow up to 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it. Some discolouration of the mesh part of the filter assembly is normal, and will not affect performance. By clearing any obstructions and washing the filter, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've followed these steps and are still concerned, I'd encourage you to get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you and recommend the best course of action. Kind regards, Jack Dyson Online Customer Support
