On the DC28 you will have to replace the cleaner head assembly. A Dyson repair or warranty dealer can get one for you. I can get one for you if you can't find one locally.

A DC-7 has a Panasonic motor which is the best part of it. I have never seen one of those fail within the life expectancy. You do have to consider that a Dyson was never designed to last more than 5 years. The newer Dysons are only designed to last 2 years. If the motor runs for 15 minutes and overheats, my first guess would be a faulty heat sensor on the motor. If it ran only 30 seconds or so, probably a bad motor.

Take it to your local vac shop and let them diagnose it. You are within warranty so if it is clogged warranty will not cover that, but everything else warranty will cover.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Most of the time the reason why vacuum is not picking up is due to loss of suction. You may need to check for blockages of your wand and hose. Remove the wand and hose from your cleaner when checking for blockages and any damages. Make sure to turn off and unplug your vacuum from the power before doing this. Please refer to this troubleshooting guide for more information on how you can remove blockages:

You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Dyson replacement parts for your Dyson vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for readers, use code: FIXYA10

I hope this was helpful.

Plug it into an outlet that has GFI (those in a bathroom) and if it trips the GFI breaker then it is wet inside and should not be used due to shock hazard.

It you have the ball. Look on the side and you will see two small cut outs. Just screw it off and you will see the filter also there one on top of the The trash Collector. If you have the older model. Remove the trash collector and pop up the flat base under it. Wash the filters with warm water and let dry for 24 hours.

If your model is a DC07 as stated there is not a separate motor that runs the brushroll. The brushroll spins from a belt that comes from the main motor or goes through a clutch assembly with two belts. If it is a ball model and the wires have severed you will need to replace the wire or wires with the proper replacement parts for it to work properly. I would need your model number to determine the proper wat to fix it.

The system is supposed to suck from the handle instead of the bottom when it's fully upright. If it's still doing that when the handle is reclined well away from upright, then the sensor for upright may be broken or jammed. My precise knowledge fades at that point, but I'll see if there's more detail in the manual.

Hi Jean, it's Jack at Dyson.

Different Dyson upright vacuums will differ in design - many of our upright machines don't use a traditional, user-replaceable belts. In order to help you with any issues you're having, we would need to know exactly which Dyson model you own.

When convenient, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). Please have your machine easily to hand, as our experts will be able to talk you through some simple troubleshooting checks. We're often able to resolve issues right over the phone - but if not, we'll be able to confirm whether a repair or replacement parts are covered under the Dyson warranty.

We'll look forward to speaking with you.
