SIS Mirage 3+ 672MX SIS is a dead maker of chips now and A huge PROBLEM. OS = VISTA THE LOWEST RATED PC ON EARTH THEY SAY. no matter what OS you try , no OS on earth runs on bad hardware if you run tests correctly you'd see

1. huge battery no good, remove it run on AC power , even forever.
2. RTC CMOS coin cell is bad, not one ever lasted 15 years. .
3. replace that COIN BAT. now and can not be ignored.
4. next is hdd bad, run smart tests on it,and it will fail as no OS on earth ever runs on any bad HDD. never. ASK HOW.
5. last is , CCFL back lamps will go dead , and means zero future for this PC but by magic yours work, (a kinda trap that).
6. The SIS chips have zero support but for VISTA from OEM direct but Fujitsu ended support long long ago. ask Linux folks for help finding relic SIS GPU support, good luck there, now.
7. It came new in the box NIB with Include Knoppix4 Linux CD !
8. Siemens dropped out so only Fujitsu remains if at all.

Remove the screws and gently slide out the tray. The HDD should automatically disconnect from the buses so be gentle. from there, 4 screws on the bottom and you are ready to install a new drive.
