did you installed the driver. go to my computer right click choose properties then go to device manager and see if ethernet it ok or it have a yellow ?.

Once Safe Mode comes up, click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore and select a Restore Point (date and time) that is before you downloaded and installed Google Chrome.I seriously doubt that Google Chrome is your problem. Chrome is among the top tier as far as browsers go.I think you've got a windows system file or boot file issue.

If this is the BIOS password pull the CMOS battery for a couple minutes, then replace...it should reset the BIOS settings...if its only a hdd password and u forgot it u can contact local technician but that might cost u

try finding the name of the sound card and then visit the realtek website to download the compatible driver k.. U can locate the name of the sound card in device manager under Unkown devices... Take care..

Does the mobo have integrated graphics? If so, you may want to try installing a new graphics card and disabling the onboard. I had the same problem with an eMachines. When I installed the AGP card, it worked just fine.

look for any screws in the back near a side panel(usually the right side). loosen them all!
then, look for any sort of button in the back to push down on. push it down while pulling backwards on the case panel.

Check the adapter with a multi-meter to see if there is voltage at the plug that connects into the laptop. The oltage reading should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the adapter.
Try to borrow an adapter (same as yours) and connect it to your laptop. Also try removing the battery and power up the laptop without the battery but with the adapter connected (could be a battery problem).

If you have a USB mouse, try it on a friends PC or laptop.
if it works there then check your USB (Universal Serial Bus Controllers) in the Device Manager...

This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor. The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) No you don't need a driver. These are very plain powered speakers that come with a mains adapter and a lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack at both ends. Plug one in the speaker and the other into the headphone jack on the front or the speaker socket on the back which will either be a socket on the motherboard, or if your son put a sound card in the computer, it will be in a sound card. If it doesn't play straight away, go into Settings - Audio and make sure the sound card or the On-Board Audio is enabled. They deleted the Operating System by deleting their own stuff Docs, images, Saved Links etc. and also everything in Windows System probably in spite. You need to reload the operating system (Win 11) from fresh. Charge them from their final pay check, or ask IT to do it.

When I Google the model number the first thing that shows is Replacement LCD Screens for it which leads me to believe there is an issue with them. There is three parts to the display, the video card section, the exciter module and the screen itself. It needs correct diagnosis, or buy a new one now you have reset it clean, if that is what you mean by 'hard restart'? You might mean 'hard boot', power off and back on without proper shutdown.
