My gateway 310 series desktop will not power on,

sounds like your power supply. try another power strip. try plugging it into another outlet. try the monitor power cable instead of the power cable from the tower. If none of these works, and you get zero power, you need a new power supply.

Cant access folder...help me please!

Well it could be a permission issue. Did you do all your updates once you reinstalled your xp copy? Try right clicking on the folder, and select run as administrator. Set your permissions to allow all. The click apply and ok then close the window and navigate away from your folder so it resets. Then try accessing the folder again. Let me know if this works for you.

Cant access files...

Boot up into safe mode, logging in as the Administrator, not your account.

Go into the security settings for the folder and change the permissions. The easiest thing would be to give Everyone full access. Don't forget to promulgate the permissions to the directory tree as well.

Good luck

I have a Gateway LP2417 monitor and there's No sound.Hoe do I fix it,so I can hear the video that is playing?

This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor. The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) VGA and DVI connections don't support audio so I assume you are using the HDMI port. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Do i need a driver for old gateway gmax2000 speakers connected to an old acer-based home built pc my nephew gave me?

No you don't need a driver. These are very plain powered speakers that come with a mains adapter and a lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack at both ends. Plug one in the speaker and the other into the headphone jack on the front or the speaker socket on the back which will either be a socket on the motherboard, or if your son put a sound card in the computer, it will be in a sound card. If it doesn't play straight away, go into Settings - Audio and make sure the sound card or the On-Board Audio is enabled. This shows the cable https://picclick.com/Vintage-Gateway-2000-ACS41-Altec-Lansing-Multimedia-Computer-314990339798.html#&gid=1&pid=1 More here https://www.google.com/search?q=gateway+gmax2000+speakers ..
