can you login? sometimes yahoo servers just don't work either. i used to use Yahoo but they kept changing formats for mail, browser look, etc. without notifying people. Then they have so many problems they keep failing to work! I would give up, sync to Microsoft mail or Google. THey rarely are down or have problems and if updates are coming, they notify you before hand.

Is your network cable connected to your computer? are you sure that your network is turned on? are you able to see that your computer is receiving internet connection? One way to do this is to open the start menu and within the bottom search box type in CMD and then hit enter. the DOS window will appear. within that type in ipconfig /all and see what happens. if you have 192.1668.x.x then you are online and it is a browser issue and you could be infected with a virus. However, if you see this: 169.192.x.x then you are having a loopback and you are unable to get on to the internet. which means that you will need to reboot your modem, wait for it to fully go online and then try to go on to the internet with your computer.

That security alert is most likely one of the false positives that are running around the internet.
They tell you that you have a virus and then want you to pay them to get rid of it where in actual fact the only virus you have is them.
Try downloading, installing and running "malwarebytes" I have used this application many times to rid machines of the nonsense you are seeing.

Go to your mail box and click on "settings" in the upper righthand corner.

In the left side margin click on "compose". Scroll down to "sending" and uncheck the box next to "Automatically add email addresses to Contacts"

Be _sure_ to click "save"

Then go back to your mail box and click on "contacts" in the left side margin, then delete or edit the contacts as needed.

If you are using a different email provider, the process will be similar.

Try uninstall norton antivirus and load avira antivirus, run word program and check whether an error will come out. If no error, your antivirus might be corrupted and somehow affects your application. If error still occurs after replacing norton, uninstall office program and reinstall again.

The port in the PC needs to be USB 2.0 standard.

A quick analogy. Think of a tap with 1/2" outlet, and you connect an adapter and a 1" hose to it. It will work, but you will not get more water just because you attached a thicker hose; the original outlet has to have higher diameter to give you more water.

If all your USB ports are 1.0 version, the only option is to purchase an USB 2.0 PCI card mounted inside the computer - this will give you 2 or 4 (depending on card model) USB 2.0 outlets.

First off, 192.168.0.1 is probably your router. That being said, it sounds as if you might have a malware infection known as a redirector. Go to www.download.com (on a different PC) and download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. (MBAM). This is freeware, BTW. Install this on your affected PC and run a complete scan, allow it to delete or quarantine whatever it detects, and you should be OK.

Is there a NIC in the Gateway? A place to plug in a cat 5 cable? If yes, there is your answer. You will need a place to plug in the other end ... if you dont have a router, you will need one. I recommend LinkSys routers though there are other brands.

If you have no NIC, get a PCI based NIC at the Big Box Store. They can tell you how to put it in or for a small fee, they will do it for you.

I am unable to find specs for your pc but it does seem you have the wrong type of memory card. I would recommend taking one of the original cards with you to your retailer to make sure you have the same card. Also, some memory cards have the specs on the card itself, check yours to see.

Thanks for using FixYa. The serial number is usually located on the top, left, right, or back panel of the computer. The serial number is printer on a black sticker with white lettering.

And if you are unable to locate the serial code anywhere then right click on My computer icon on desktop, then click on properties and from there you will be able to see the serial number from there.

If nothing is happening, it is related to the power. Make sure that you are using a electrical outlet that is working (use a light to test). Unplug the power cord from the back of the computer, as well as from the wall socket, and then plug it back in with authority... making sure it has a good connection on both ends. You may also use another power cord (but rarely would be the cause of the problem). If there is no action from the power supply when you press the on button, then the problem must be with the power button or the power supply. I would lay odds that it is the power supply, replacement should cost about $30.

You mean you don't have a DVD/CD ROM? you can have your disc copied to a USB and plug it to your Computer and Install the Software.

The best software available is called Malware Bytes. It is a smaller application that kills everything you don't want and is free. It can be downloaded from http://www.malwarebytes.org .
After downloading and installing, update the definitions file if not prompted to do so right away. After a full scan, you will have to reboot. Upon rebooting, run the scan again to insure every piece of malware has been removed. Works everytime.

the easiest option will be to do a system restore to before the outage; Start/All programmes>accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Then choose restore my computer to previous settings, then choose a date that is not greyed out. Hope this sorts it Please rate solution

Hit F2 on boot up and go into the Bios settings, look for the boot order and change it to HDD as first boot device, hit F10 and save and exit.
The PC will restart and should boot into the hard drive.
