The make is Samsung, with an 'a'.

Take it in for repair, you are not a television engineer. The "let's try changing this board" is not the cost efficient way of repairing a television. Plus, many of the boards you buy are from scrapped sets and are broken when you buy them. Small print says you can't return them!

This is a problem that we see often, on Fixya

So your television stops working properly and you think it must be easy to fix, because you can buy boards on eBay, and you can watch YouTube videos. So you make a decision, you buy a board and you fit it, but the television still doesn't work! This is a classic case of the 'let's try replacing this' method of television repair and illustrates why it is a bad idea. It doesn't work for a number of reasons. To correctly diagnose issues, you need to know every board, what is does and every component on the board. You need to know which part has failed, replace the component, or replace the board. The parts you purchased off eBay were probably out of scrapped sets and not tested. The part your put in was dead when you put it in, so you just moved on to another guess at what might be the cause and replace a board that is fine. And so it goes on, you change all the boards and it still doesn't work. Did you notice the large print that says 'No Refunds, NO Returns'. This is to stop you sending your old one back and saying it didn't work, but the unscrupulous use it as an excuse to get money for selling items that may not work! The course to be a television engineer is 2 years full time education, take it to someone that knows how to diagnose and fix. It is by far the cheapest option. The part that failed might be a 20 cents fuse diode hard soldered to a board. They will charge you $2 parts and an hours labour.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot a TV picture that is too dark. Refer to the manual provided with the TV if additional model-specific instructions are needed to perform any of the steps listed.
  1. If Picture mode is set to Cinema or Custom, the screen may become dark. If the screen is still dark after the picture quality mode is changed, change the setting Backlight, Picture, Brightness and adjust the brightness to your taste.
Example of setting method: Check Picture Mode from Settings - Display - Picture and change the setting.NOTE: When a TV is in a store they are set up for Shop Front display settings which are very bright and vivid. However, some Sony TVs may be shipped with more energy-friendly settings to comply with energy savings programs such as the Energy Star. Depending on such settings, the picture brightness level can be higher or lower.
  2. If Power Saving is set to Low or High, the screen becomes dark.
Example of setting method: Select Settings - System Settings - Eco and set Power Saving to Normal or Off, and then check whether the problem is resolved.
  3. Some TVs have Light Sensor feature; the picture will become brighter or lower depending on room lighting conditions.
Turning off the Light Sensor or Automatic Brightness Control (depends on your TV model) may increase picture brightness.
  4. View programming from a different source, such as a DVD player or VCR, to see if the issue is being caused by the device providing the signal to the TV.
NOTE: If the dark picture issue is displayed when viewing from one device only, the dark picture issue is being caused by that device, not the TV. Contact the device manufacturer for additional troubleshooting information.
  5. If it is a projection TV, consider replacing the lamp.
IMPORTANT: The method to replace the lamp differs by model. Refer to the instruction manual for model-specific steps to replace the lamp.

it is Dvd player recorder ./
what does FLASHED mean, did you just mean getting the player BIOS from Panasonic and flash burning new firmware to it .
or do you thing burning any DVD is flashing, (IDK)
then you say you want to format a disk leaving out what disk is in your hand.
these
DVD-Video, DVD-VR(DVD-RW only), JPEG (HD)(DVD-R only), MP3(DVD-R only), DivX®(DVD-R only)

not telling what media is in your hand makes this impossible.
it only does THIS.
https://shop.panasonic.com/support-only/DMR-EZ28K.html

test #1 if you have a real DVD movie disk from a real store.
not counterfeit)
then it plays did you do that first>? this is first things first cat.
it will also play store bought Music disks, CD-DA is the disk.
that too is base line test for sound working.(and decoding sound)
