Philips Brilliance 240bw9cb Lcd Widescreen Monitor 24" Part Number M983d - Page 7 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

It sounds like the problem is in your computer, hook a spare monitor to verify, if you have the same problem, it is your tower that needs to be checked out.

Try reinstalling the device drivers in Device manager. Right click my computer and select properties then hit the hardware tab then the device manager button. You should find your drivers under the cd/dvd-rom heading. If you don't have the cd any more try to go to the manufacturers web site.

Check that the laptops wireless "switch" is in the ON position.
It may be a symbol on a FN or F key, or a physical slider on the side.

Try to uninstall the drivers and reistall them again, or try to update them.

Just click on the start menu button and then right click on MyComputer, then click on manage, then click on device manager on the left side (you can easily find that), then you can see list of all the drivers installed on your PC, right click the philips driver ( it will be under audio or video category if it related to your display screen or to your speakers, or you can choose the appropriate category) and then click on update driver or uninstall. If you click on update drivers then do the recommended options and it can find the drivers itself but if you are uninstalling it then after uninstallation you have install the drivers throgh setup or CD provided with yor philip equipment.

You have installed the wrong driver for the TV card, the SAA713X series has SEVERAL very closely related OEM variations. Make sure you use the CORRECT driver.

Try your motherboard with a known-to-be-good power supply. Some psu fail so much they kill the motherboard when they die.

If it's making a strange noise and you really want to keep your data you need the help of a professional. If you are close to Los Angeles I can help you in person, but if not then I would recommend you having a local repair shop take a look at the drive with you there in person. should only take a decent tech 5 minutes to provide a quick diagnosis of the drive.

Philips... | Answered on Feb 12, 2011 | 102 views

yes definitely u can use...

Please refer to user manual for power rating...

In India the voltage used is 220v whereas in Canada its 110v

some machines can work in both the voltages...certain do not...

In this case you can use a voltage converter to convert 220v to 110v...

Try to clean the Lazer Reading Head. Normally this is the problem - that the reading head is dirty.

one of two problems , the interface or the unit , first start by
removing the outer cover to make sure the unit is connected
properly inside , then when connecting make sure you hear
the plug in sound of the USB low to high , a high to low sound
means the there is a problem with either the USB or the cord
second make sure you hear a noise or see a operation light
if so reboot the computer while the unit is plugged in , look
for icon in my computer , make sure you hear a spin up sound
if the unit spins up and down the units motor is malfunctioning
if there is a clicking sound the units heads need replacing if
everything sounds and looks good try taking the HDD out of
its closure set the jumpers to slave and hook it up inside of
a PC to troubleshoot if there is a problem with the closure

Goto start then run type in disk management. In the next screen you should see you external drive listed. Right click the drive and delete volume right click it again and select format. Even a quick format should be fine and choose Fat32 as your file system. Cheers from Scottt and plz vote
