Smeg 24 in. DWD612SS Built-in Dishwasher Questions & Answers
Hi, Every 2nd time I
E8 - Defective alternate valve functioning
This alarm is generated when the programme starts and the timer card does not detect the signal
that the alternate valve is positioned.
This defect can be caused by:
- defective alternate valve
- electric connections are not properly positioned
- defective electric card
The program and start buttons
It is likely the moisture has got into the keypad or the controller has frozen.
Have you tried to turn the power off and on again?
Also try pressing p1 and p2 buttons together.
Dishwasher has a overfill problem rinse light flashing
An Idea: the Overflow sensor or float is bad, stuck, disconnected and its messages to STOP filling aren't getting thru to the CPU
This is usually located in the right frony of the machine or in the side wall. Float types get gummed up with 1/2 dissolved soap powder (god what we do tho the water systems) see if it moves. Sensor types have a hole that feels or senses water. If clogged, they lie. Clean out with toothpick and blast with a bit of hot water and air. Retry
If fixed, let me know... if not, see the yellow pages for parts dealers ;-)
Cheers
Cloudy dishes and hard water
You need to use a product called Lemi Shine. It works amazingly well. You can get it at your local grocery store.
Dishwasher does not complete the cycle
Repair guy came out and after an hour of taking things to bits and not finding a leak , we managed to identify the problem as originating from a faulty door seal at the top door lock ( it was ever so slightly dented in/warped) which had caused the water to track through the door lock down into the machine and trip the electrics after 30 minutes in the cycle. He'd never heard of this happening before - just my luck!!
Door seal replaced and ( so far) everything working fine.
Dishwasher not working
try this first is there still water in dishwasher if so your water pump is blocked or failed.
second check your tap connection has it got a flood lock device fitted to hose if so will have to replace hose.if none of these help you may need to replace pcb in extreme cases.

Hi our dw 1612 integral
I don't mean to make you sound stupid but it isnt a switch that you can use.
It is used in a dishwaher to make sure that the water doesnt over fill and spill over out of the dishwasher and electricute someone. it cuts off the water (when working corectly) and washes as normal or if it over fills it tells you and in your case it is error E2
you need to speak to a appliance repare shop to see what needs to be fixed or replaced.
Hopefully this has givin you some help
if you have any questions plese dont hesitate to ask
Smeg dishwasher displaying Er01 code
This is a possible problem with either the switch that prevents the washer over filling with water during a wash cycle or there is a leak in one of the pipes inside the machine. I would recommend you get an engineeer to look at it as you will need to get inside the machine to repair this.
