I have a Western Digital Passport that works fine

Western Digital Passports work perfectly on USB ports 2.0 that supplies 5v of electricity with a max of 500mA. If your computer was manufactured more than 5 years ago, it may be using the USB 1.1 which is slower than the current.

Sound not work

No offence, but please work on your spelling and grammar.

Anyhoo, try double-clicking on the speaker icon on the right part of the taskbar (bar at the bottom with the windows logo).

Drag the slider all the way to the top. If that doesn't work or if it was already at the top, access the start menu and select:
"Control Panel" in the column on the right.
Then double-click Sound. Now select "Speakers" ad click:
"Set Default". Now click properties. Click the "Enhancement" tab. Make sure the all the boxes are unchecked.

Now click the "Levels" tab.
Slide both sliders all the way to the right.
Click "Apply".
Click "OK".
Click "OK" again.

Now try playing some sort of sound that you know works on your PC.

Ta-Da!

If it didn't work, just notify me at: [email protected].
Same goes for anyone else with this problem on VISTA.
I can also help with XP.

By the way, if you do E-mail me, write:
"FixYa Problem" as the subject; or something along those lines.

Toshiba A200 1Ai memory slot not working

new board, the actual ram slot is toast, you can get a replacement board from Toshiba themselves but at a retarded price, at this point cheapest thing to do would be to just put in one 2 gig stick in the working slot so at least you have 2 gigs and forget about the other one (replacement mother-board for your machine is roughly 200 bucks) i checked it at work (future-shop)

Voices on computer

Sounds like you have a virus or spyware in the backgound. Open Task manager and check if there is any strange process. Also, Start, Run, msconfig, then startup, see what is staring up in the background. Run you anti-virus. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/joe_8b8c2cd6ce148309

IBM R32 1.8GHz Pentium 4 laptop - won't start up, hardware issue?

Hi PopRocks, your system errors show up as memory problems to windows errors & everything inbetween. If your notebook is in warranty, let the pro's fix it. If your notbook is out of warranty the best you can do is use the restore CD & format the drive in your system & fresh install windows. Load your CD or restore CD in to your CDROM drive. Your notebook should show the screen (to run from CD press any key...), (Press any key). Your restore CD / Windows should start to load. Follow the on screen instructions. If your notebook fails to load the cdrom press the F8 key every 2 seconds at start up. Choose your cdrom drive by moving the up & down arrow keys to highlite the cdrom & press enter.

Got my fingers crossed!
Luck....
Mike
