something not right here with the question/request---""unplugging the 230 volt charger"????--I don't know of a 230 volt charger---unless this is in Europe---a 120 volt charger---in USA-- but I'll try this---a LED light does not use enough electricity to discharge a battery over night--- do you have another function on this unit such as a compressor or lights--something that maybe on???---another thought is that the battery has failed causing this malfunction----has this been wet/underwater---a malfunction with a diode in the electronics may cause the charger to try and charge the battery via ac and cook the battery as well as the circuit board---this is a real issue here---I'm not getting enough info to give an intelligent answer---i need to know if anything has happen what has happened before and up to this point when this issue started---I don't know what happens if when using these units if you connect to (jump start) battery with reverse polarity--if it bows a fuse or cooks the unit---sorry I can't be more helpful

You can dissemble the unit and replace the switch---it's usually a common type switch that you could pick up a radio shack or graingers---also you could go to the Stanley web site for a diagram and listing of the parts-number----then order from them--hope this helps

I would go to Stanley web site and check for a diagram of the item and see if it lists the part you need----you could also go to auto parts store and get the end that used for inflating tires on tire machine and put it on your hose---you may have to buy an adapter for the hose and clamp then screw the end on----hope this will help

I would suspect that the internal battery has reached the end of its life. Surely there is a green light to indicate when it is charged?

Since most of those chargers are just simple current chargers it is best to not leaving on it all the time. Plug the charger in to the Jump Starter for about a day or two and then unplug it. About a week later plug the charger in for a day, then unplug it and do it again next week.

You've probably figured this out by now, but their should be a thing that looks like the male end of an electrical plug in an odd place. Get an extension cord and place the female end over that male end and plug the male end of the extension cord it into the wall overnight.

Is it an impact wrench or a battery jump starter? I find nothing on Stanley's website for a 160157XSTN.

There reasons to why your battery isnt charging, it could be either the battery is old and has become bad or it has low liquid levels in it.

It is not designed for this style application. You can jump start the car with it and use the car to charge the battery. Clean battery posts first and add distilled water to battery if needed.
