I have found over the years that printers usually don't lie. If it is saying there is a problem there usually is. Unfortunately they can't tell you exactly where to look.
I have found the following that have caused printer errors: - a small piece of paper has torn off and got stuck somewhere in the guts of the printer. The printer will register this as a jam and will not work again until this paper has been removed. I have had to tear out the guts of a printer just to find the tiniest piece of paper. -if you print labels that are the self stick kind sometimes a small piece of the label may become stuck to something and register as a jam. - there may be an issue with the paper standard bin or some other part. Make sure it is not overfilled. It cold be a roller issue or some other part that has gone bad.
Your best bet if you can't figure it out is to call for service.

try to search in the internet the driver of your printer

First off try to disconnect the printer and uninstall the printer software. The reinstall and connect your printer for harware detection and final installation, Now there can be no errors as the printer must do the job. If not clean your head with the maintenance menu and try to test print. If this wont solve We must suspect the toner that was last replaced . Finally the head could be the last culprit in our list. the power switch is on the rear bottom corner of the right-hand side. be sure you plug it in, and then flip the switch.

Black spots on the document usually is caused by either a leaking toner cartridge. A PC drum that is at end of life. Or as simple as spots on the document glass.

Usually it is the white roller that is going bad in the tray. These are easy to replace - but fragile. They have a small clip that may break if you push it to hard. If you dont have a replacement - try cleaning them real well. If that doesnt work - you can take it off and remove the "tire" part and put it back on inside out. It fits funny but works if no parts are available.... All the rollers are the same for almost all printer like this.

There are two possible solutions: The first is that the lugs on the side of the paper tray are broken, and the printer cannot "see" a paper tray. In this case you need a new paper tray. The other possibility is that the tray and paper size sensor inside the printer is faulty. Often just pushing the contacts can free them, and sometimes the metal prongs that sense the lugs on the side of the paper tray get unseated. Just use your finger to reseat them correctly. If that doesn't work, the sensor board is likely to have failed, and will need replacing

922 fuser errors is a bad fuser - you might try turning off printer - holding the select and return button down at the same time - turn on printer - HOLD buttons until it starts inting (about 15 sec) and the arrow over to print test pages - if the error doesn't return - repeat a few times.... this may by pass the error.. then power off - ON and see if problem is gone. replace fuser if not

You cannot use Lexmark toner cartridges in IBM models and vice-versa because the toner carts have a smartchip that identifies the toner to the printer. IBM printers expect to see IBM toners and Lexmark machines expect to see Lexmark toners. If you put the wrong cartridge in you will get '32' Unsupported print cartridge error.
Some refillers may swap the smartchip when they refill cartridges and this would be the only reason why you may have seen it done before.. IS your current toner a refilled one? It's technically possible to make an IBM printer into a Lexmark printer to accept Lexmark toners by replacing the System Board... but why would you bother doing that...just use the right toner.

The 202 error can be indicated if the fuser exit sensor (on the far right when looking into the rear of the machine) actuator does not return to "at rest" position quickly enough. There is a small spiral tension spring that returns the actuator to the "at rest" position. If the hook on this spring has fallen off or was accidentally dislodged during an actual paper jam removal, the actuator will return to the "at rest" position, but sluggishly. It would be just slow enough for the printer timing to think there is paper stuck the at fuser exit, even though there isn't.
You also might want to try using some "canned air" and blowing out this sensor. There could be enough Toner/Paper dust to make it marginal.

To start do the following:

Unplug printer USB, unplug power from pc and also remove the battery if it is a laptop, and restart printer and PC.
With printer still unplugged go to control panel>>printers and empty the printer cue.
Test a replacement USB cable and try plugging the printer on a different USB port.

If the above did not work , then reinstall the printer software using the printer CD. Unplug the printer and start software installation with printer USB unplugged.

Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Invalid engine code --- is a bad engine board - located on the LHS of the printer behind the formatter board

If you have a duplexer check in there. also sometimes the paper will get stuck in the fuser and will be torn off inside. you can take the fuser out with a phillips (2 screws) and and 2 plugs. check and rotate fuser by hand to be sure it is clean. re assemble
