Page 77 of the manual tells you how (There's a lot of symbols and screen prints - so I won't cut and paste it here).

Lumix DMC-LC33 shows memory card error -format

This normally happens when the memory card gets corrupt. Hope you have pressed OK after selecting YES. Check whether the card is locked. SD card has a small Lock button on the top left. If this fails, buy a new SD card and format it in the camera before taking any image.

If i turn my camera on it says ''system error''.

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, chances are that your batteries are just too worn to properly power the camera. And then, of course, there's the possibility that your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Downloading via USB to PC

I assume you want to download pictures from your camera to your computer through your USB cable instead of by transferring your memory card. Actually, most people prefer to use the memory card method, I know I do. The camera/USB method will not work unless you install the camera software to your computer and it must be compatible. Many of the camera software is not compatible with some versions of Vista, for example.

Audio Problem!

Have you looked for the manual online from the Panasonic website? Just type in your model number on their support page and you should find the manual that will explain exactly the menu item that you need to find. Other than that, I'm sure there is an audio option on the system menu. The camera default is to be off because it uses a lot of extra memory to record sound.

System Error message

So you have any other memory cards? You may want to try that first. What batteries are you using? Can you try a new set of NiMH batteries? not alkalines but NiMH try these things first because they are easy. If you have tried different memory, and different batteries then it could be a connection problem inside the unit. These cameras dont have may circuit boards so they use ribbon cable to connect the different componets together. These can sometimes work loose. An impact can vibrate them just enough to cause the problem. It could also be the lens mechanism. Sand and grit can work into the gears and bind them up. If it zooms in and out smoothly then this maynot be the problem. If you hear any change in the speed of the motor when its zoomed in and out that could be it.

Error message

*&%$@#%^&*&^% !!"It's working!!!! Turn your camera on and put it near your ear. Did you hear a softly motorized sound in the lenses area and the green LED is flashing? If you hear this sound do this. Do it under your own responsability. (any way your camera does not work). When you turn on the camera wait until the lenses come out, in that moment grab the lens with your hand and don't let it go back. The camera will turn off but the lens will stay out. With the camera off push in the lens with your hand. Turn on the camera and that's it. I had to do it 2 times, but now my camera it's working again. This system error could be caused because the lens get out of it rail and the camera can not set the focus system.

When I turn my camera on, Its show system error?

You do not mention any problems with the lens so I'll assume it's behaving normally.

There's little that can be done as your camera will be about six years old now and uneconomic to do any but the most basic repair attempts. I've not seen a DMC-LC33 for a while, but I think there's a reset button underneath which can be pressed with an unfolded paperclip. When you try this it's best to have the mode selector dial set to "replay" (green triangle). If there is no rest button then turn the camera on whilst in playback mode and remove the battery. Leave the camera this way for 24 hours and then refit a fully charged battery with the camera still set to replay.

If it seems to work then try setting the dial to a photo-taking mode. If the lens fails to emerge and you still have system error then there's really nothing more you can do.

What's likely to have happened is that the camera has tried to turn on whilst in a bag or a pocket and either the lens was prevented from emerging by an obstruction. The camera was designed to react to this when new by simply abandoning the process and turning off, but as it's got older the sensor may have failed. If the camera tries to extend the lens when it can't something has to give and it's normally a plastic peg in the lens barrel which either breaks, bends or gets dislodged.

As you can replace your 3MP camera with a perfectly good one on online auction sites for under £30 or even get them for free on Yahoo FreeCycle it's completely uneconomic to do anything more. But you can sell your camera for spares or repair and will often get £10 or so.

I hope my answer has helped you and sorry I can't offer you a definitely positive outcome. Please return the favour by rating my answer.

Camera will not turn on. Tried several new batteries.

I had (and continue to have - from time to time) the same problem. Each time I replace the batteries and try to turn the camera on, it will not go. I have found a simple "fix" with my own camera: that is to flip the on/off switch several times rapidly, and then, you will eventually hear the beep indicating the unit has powered on. Not really sure why this works, but it is the only way I can get mine to work. It has been a persistent problem since I have owned it.

System error

Forgive me - due to language difference, I cannot fully comprehend the details of the problem.
But, I also experienced "system error" a few times and I got the camera to work fine after deleting some pictures and creating space on the SD card.

Date on pictures

If you have had this feature in the past and now it has stopped the likely hood is that the internal battery that keeps the clock going has died. you will have to check Panasonic support re replacement - but it is likely no replacement is possible.

"No Memory Card" Error Message

Hey there richman666, I have had similiar problems with card recognition in the past and the issue seems to have been related to a format problem occurring when you use other programs to alter contents of the card. I solved my problem by reformatting the card in the camera after I deleted all contents using a card reader connected to my computer. Alternately, you may want to try another smaller size card (512mb). Some cameras are not recognizing the new cards with larger memory. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
