Spilled water on keyboard of Sony VIAO VGN-FW250j
unfortunately water has a way of finding it's way into the circuit board, when it does it causes immeasurable damage, as parts of the circuit, and components that were not meant to get voltage are exposed to it, this generally ruins the machine's motherboard, with little chance of recovery. The HD may be OK as may be the DVD however anything electronic will generally be ruined, sorry. A recovery DVD is only good for SOFTWARE, problems... you have a hardware issue.

My sony vaio laptop is
Please backup the data by logging in to Safe Mode, please restart and start pressing F8 key to select Safe Mode then re-install the Windows 7 Operating System using the Recovery Disc or recovery Partition of the Hard Drive. The Recovery Partition can be accessed by restarting the computer and try pressing F10 Key. The Windows XP Operating System is displaying an error because it does not have SATA Driver to detect the Hard Drive. As Windows 7 has it, you can re-install it from recovery partition.

I purchased a used vaio
It probably is a "dead" disk-drive inside the computer.
So, the computer would try to boot from the 3.5-inch diskette drive, or the CD/DVD drive,
if there was "bootable" media inside the device.
So, you need to take the computer to a computer-store, to remove the "dead" disk-drive,
and for them to sell you a "new" and "compatible" disk-drive.
Then, you must re-install Windows (did the seller include a set of "System Restore") CD/DVD disks? Or, can you telephone Sony, and order a replacement set of those disks?

Pls i want to know
Hello,
This is likely to be as a result of your fan not cooling the processor properly again, possibly because of the powdery substance that was used to clean the system, and it has now been drawn into the system by the fan.
Therefore my suggestion would be for you to unscrew your laptop (If you can do it by yourself), and try to clean, or better still replace your processor fan.
If you cant do it by yourself, you can easily get a technician to do it for you.
I have actually had the same case before, and after doing what I've just told you, it stopped behaving like that.
And you are also still very lucky, because after a while, if the case worsens, the system will not just be making noise, but it will start to overheat and be powering-off automatically.
Then always make sure that your laptop is in a well ventilated, cool environment and that the environment is free from dusts.
Hope this helps you out.
Goodluck!
