Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-D770 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Focusing the 770
Tom,
It's best to do the zoom first, then focus (if you are using the autofocus).
Sony DSC-D770 and IBM MicroDrive
No, from what I have been reading, it isn't compatible. Other users report an Error 14. Sony does say in their manual that not even all PCMCIA cards will work.
Sony dsc-d770 histogram
Yes. It can be set to automatically show the histogram after every exosure, or on demand by pressing the review button twice. Both are done in CAM mode.
Mac and D770
I have the same camera and haven't found any software from Sony. Your best bet - and it's faster too - is to get a USB to Compact Flash and/or
SmartMedia reader from one the the digital camera stores (Newer, Simple, SanDisk are a few brands) for less than $100, plus get a higher capacity
Compact Flash or Smartmedia card. That doesn't solve the problem of using Memory Sticks - perhaps Sony will wake up and realize that serious
users are using Macs! No big loss since Sony bundled only an 8 meg stick thou.
D770 Mini Plug to IEEE 1394 Interface
Hi Paul,
Sorry, but there is no firewire setup on the D770.
There is a video output jack on the camera only.
You will have to use big ATA or PCMCIA cards and plug them into the PCMCIA card slot. You can also use PCMCIA card adapters for MemoryStick, SmartMedia, and CompactFlash cards(CF).
Those are your only options of media for the laptop or PC.
The camera comes with a parallel port PCMCIA cardreader. It is reccommended to be used on your PC.
Hope this info helps you out.
WISIWIG with D770 and Epson750
For me, it didn't work! May depend on your system, i.e. Monitor. I asked about the same question some time back but nobody answered... So, I guess it isn't a problem ???
Good luck
Can D-770 use microdrives??
Sorry, No they can't be used! There is a difference in the power pinouts of the Microdrive that prevents it working in the D7xx cameras.
