Can't insert disc - want repair manual to see how
It is very hard to find the repair manual. Have you got it ? I repaired my old FD-75 just by open it and disassembly the shutter button swith, cleaned and re-assembled. It works after more than a year without use.
DISC ERROR
It's the floppy drive in the camera. It needs to be replaced. Use can check sites like eBay for the disk drive to get some idea of prices.
DISC ERROR
This means the the floppy disk drive has dirty the reader/recorder heads, or the heads are misaligned, or the floppy has a mechanical problem during the reading process.
You can start in blowing compressed air inside the floppy disk.
If it does not work, then the floppy drive will need to be serviced or replaced.
Best regards,

Difference between a camera with F2.9 - 5.4 and f3.3 - 5.8
f2.8 - 5.4 is better keeping everything else same. This is because f2.8 means a higher aperture size. This means you can increase the shutter speed to get the same level of exposure as a f3.3. So ur images will be less blurry theoretically at lower lights. but then other factors also would influce such as teh quality fo lens and more importantly optical image stabilizer.
Drive error
This is an early floppy drive model yes?
Drive error could refer to corrupt floppy disc or a failure of the drive.
Check the disc angle first - new disk formatted to camera.
If it is not that - then buy another camera
A repair I guess will not be an option -but checkout Sony first.

Purple Pictures
This is a CCD sensor problem and should be replaced. Try to have it done free of charge by Sony even though your camera is an old model because CCD sensor should last 10 years +.
FD73 Photo Quality
I'm guessing, cause i own a F505 and not a FD73......but, I dont even see a use for the F505 "standard" quality setting. It will stay on "FINE" quality always.
I've got a HP 882c and it prints just fine. I use HP premium photo paper and the printer setting BEST. Are you using photo paper? Regular paper will bleed the colors around.
Take some pictures on FINE and print them out on photo paper w/ printer BEST and compare.

How can I change the language on my Sony DCR PC-100? I'm trying to change it from Japanese to English but I cant seem to find the solution online as well as from reading the manual.
The Sony DCR-PC100 is a camcorder model that was released before touch screen interfaces and language settings became more common on consumer electronics. As such, it's possible that this specific model might not have a built-in option to change the language from Japanese to English, especially if it was originally sold for the Japanese market.
However, there are a few general steps you can try that might help:
- System Menu: Check the camcorder's settings menu for any language-related options. Look for a "System" or "Language" menu where you might be able to change the language settings. Keep in mind that the menu options might still be displayed in Japanese, so you might need to rely on symbols or context.
- Reset to Defaults: Some devices have a "Reset to Defaults" option that might reset all settings, including language, to the factory defaults. This might be worth trying if you're unable to find the language settings.
- Contact Sony Support: If you're unable to find a solution through the manual or online resources, it's best to contact Sony customer support for your region. They might be able to provide specific guidance or let you know if changing the language is even possible on the DCR-PC100.
- Third-Party Resources: Search for user forums or online communities where other users might have faced a similar issue and found a solution. Sometimes, enthusiasts or experts in those communities can provide helpful insights.
- Professional Assistance: If all else fails, consider reaching out to a professional technician or service center that specializes in Sony camcorders. They might have experience with older models and could potentially assist you.
