Sony DSC W70 Problem
You will need to describe what you see on the LCD in more detail in order for me to tell you what the problem is. There are two different issues that can cause things like what you are seeing.
1: Cracked LCD. You will see lines which resemble cracked glass. You will see bright vivid colors with specks of black or stark white all over. The image problems may be only in one portion of the screen. The LCD is made of glass, so if you look closely and see patterns that look like broken glass - this is your issue. Replace the LCD.
2: Bad LCD connection. You will see distorted colors, the screen may blank out and flicker when you shake the camera or press on the housing near the screen.
If neither of these describe what you are seeing, post back and give more details and I will respond further.

Advance Camera Repair
Not turning on
You might be on the right track here, I can usually tell if machinery is a problem like this. When you turn on the camera to a position that would turn it off, does the camera make any sounds? gears or clicking sounds can point to a shutter or other mechanical issue, If there are none, then there is a possibility that there could be a firmware issue with the camera and you may need to contact the vendor for a service order. mechanical issues are increasingly difficult for the layman to repair, and putting one of these technological wonders back together can be an ordeal all its own.
The short answer here is simple. Find out if it is mechanical, then call customer support. Compare the price of a repair with the price of a shiny new camera.
Good luck!

USB cables
The cable you need is a:
USB A Male to Mini B 5-Pin Male,
And you can find it almost anywhere as this type of cable is very often used to link many USB devices as cameras, mp3 players and cell phones. So if you have one from other camera or USB device just shift.
Good Luck...

DSC T20 poor image problem
If you took the images at 8MP or 5MP settings, then normally you have a high resolution picture, was the picture clear at the cameras LCD monitor? As you said its like low res in your PC, please check the image file size 8MP resolution will be approx. 3Mb size, if its about that figure, then the problem is in the camera, if the file size is about 500K maybe its in the camera settings, PC cant affect resolution, unless you only have VGA card and monitor, hope this will help, thanks
Camera acting weird: turns off a second after turning on...
Hi,
I also have one of these cameras which behaved very similarly.
The fault cleared when I replaced my rechargeable batteries for new ones or when using new good qaulity branded batteries. When my rechargeable batteries became tired the output was not sufficient enough to fully open the lens.
I hope this helps and your
Memory stick error
Hello,
there is a contact error. In most cases it can be the connector itself. Please try to clean it with non greasy contact spray.
Best regards,
Arpi
PS: if you need more info please advice.
Dropped my camera, now it's broken.
Take the batteries out and recharge them and also look in the battery compartment for any cracks or contacts out of place. what your describing is that the camera can't get enough power to load up.
