I have similar proiblem with my SONY MVC-CD 500. I have contacted sony technical service s and get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

If you can find software to read UDF (universal disk format) you may be able to recover your pix. Whatever you do -- DO NOT reinitialize or finalize the disk. Your existing pix will certainly be lost if you do.

If your mini-CD is damage it is a difficult problem. You can also try using cd image cloning softwares... ^_^

These disks should have been finalized whilst in the camera to be seen on other devices. All I suggest you can do is to find another owner and get them to finalise the disks in their camera

Mo- Fixing will cost lots. As for downloading images- go to www.konvar.com and download PCInpector install it and see if it can see your missing images.

This is a CCD error it sees nothing so 'thinks' the cap is on- Nothing for but to get on to Sony support

Well I guess the only help is to cut the horse's hay allowance to get the camera fixed or replaced. Sony will give a quote you wont like,
