Sony DSC-T7 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
How can i rest my camera DCS-T7
What is it you want to reset?
Although a digital camera has a micro processor like a PC, it is not a computer. Some brands and some models do have a "reset" possibility, but that only changes back the settings a user has made, to the settings the camera was in when leaving the factory. You can't call that a reset.
But not even that is in your camera. If the camera does not function correct, you have to think of an error in the camera or the memory card, or the battery. The last two you can replace easy, when something is wrong with the camera please contact your dealer or repair store.

DSC-T7 Locked up "USB Mode Normal"
I am a user with the exact same problem as you desribed for my DSC-T7. My problem started when I splashed two drops of water need the battery door and then the camera would not power up. I removed battery and card for a day and camera worked fine for another day. The following day, I left my camera in my sun visor of my car for the day (>90 deg F outside) which I forgot that I put it there. The next day my camera did power up in the locked mode exactly as yours. I do not know if it was the water drops or the heat but it is doing exactly as you desribe. However, here is something that I have discovered while trying to get the camera to work:
1. I plugged the adapter into the side of the camera since I am concerned that the USB port is the issue.
2. I plugged the USB cable into my portable printer and powerer the printer up and then turned on the camera in all three modes to see if anything changed and it did not.
3. I have found if you turn off the printer with the USB cable still in the printer and the adapter, the camera then enters a mode that shows thw word "ACCESS" and then the camera works perfectly. All modes of the camera work fine. But as soon as you power up the printer or remove any of the cables or remove the adapter the camera reenters the locked mode.
This is not a solution but an indicator that the USB port is possibly causing the problem but not sure why the printer being off causes the camera to work fine. In addition, have all of the cables hooked up and to the printer does not allow the camera to be used with any mobility but wanted to let you know what I have discovered and hopefully maybe this may lead to a potential solution. Can you test, does it actually take photos? Is it just the screen that needs repairing?
Best case scenario you dismantle it yourself and find a ribbon cable needs reseating and screen is Ok, cost your time and no money
Worst case scenario it needs a screen and other parts, and the repair is done by a pro, cost at least 120 -150 dollars.
Your choice.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

On Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem
