I cant use dsc h1 with strobe light
If you problem is that the double flash triggers the strobes early (on the first flash and the shot is made on the second flash - dark) you either:
1. Get a wire accessory to command the strobes
2. Put a simple external flash on top of the camera and use it to trigger strobes. If you don't need the light from this flash just point it up of backwards, it will still trigger the strobes. If it does not rotate, you can use tin foil. A very simple external flash will do, as the camera will flash only once with external flash.

Anyone else have dust under their screen H1
I had the same problem. The H1 back is held on with six little screws and comes off easily. Watch out for the little claw at the top though. A quick clean with a lens brush removes the dust.

Sony dsc-H1 won't switch off of movie mode
When you switch the camera from mode to mode, does it make the click noise to signify that the camera recognized that it changed modes?
If not it could be that the switch itself has become unlogged from the switch. I know I had a older camera had this happen before. Try pushing down hard on the toggle wheel and seeing if it will snap back into place.
Otherwise the switch inside the camera itself is probably broken, and if this is the case cheapest thing you can do is have Sony do warranty work on the camera.

Click repair and service under Technical Support. This will get the process started on the warranty work.
Cannot toggle Flash Mode
look for the 3 boxes icon (multiple shot mode) on your lcd screen at the top. Toggle the button for this (by the shutter button) until it goes away. this has 3 modes. My wife does this all the time!
H1 SmartZoom capabilities
tried the smartzoom myself for the first time today .. I'm pleasantly suprised .. no teleconverter yet .. :-)
H1 and Cycling?
Padded backpack. I have a really excellent Hakuba camera backpack. Lots of room for camera, drinks, a little clothing, a book or two.... :)
H1 - blurry/soft pictures
I'm afraid this is more a learning curve in general photography :-) I know I also fell into that pit, after so many years of 35mm usage!, by believing at first that "digital" can do it all, well it can't fool general laws of photography/optics :-) .. once one has mastered that, things have a tendency to go a lot smoother :-)
Lenses for the H1
You are going to find the majority of users on here use the Sony VCL-DH1758. http://www.digitallyunique.com/vcl-dh1758.html
H1 - is this normal ?
I haven't ever noticed anything like that with my camera. There is a slight amount of play on my lens though.
H1 out of focus above 7xzoom?
HI,
are you sure that there is no conversion lens setting activated in the setup menu? It sounds like that to me. These modes limit the ranges.
I hope it will help, otherwise you will have to bring it back.

How can I change the language on my Sony DCR PC-100? I'm trying to change it from Japanese to English but I cant seem to find the solution online as well as from reading the manual.
The Sony DCR-PC100 is a camcorder model that was released before touch screen interfaces and language settings became more common on consumer electronics. As such, it's possible that this specific model might not have a built-in option to change the language from Japanese to English, especially if it was originally sold for the Japanese market.
However, there are a few general steps you can try that might help:
- System Menu: Check the camcorder's settings menu for any language-related options. Look for a "System" or "Language" menu where you might be able to change the language settings. Keep in mind that the menu options might still be displayed in Japanese, so you might need to rely on symbols or context.
- Reset to Defaults: Some devices have a "Reset to Defaults" option that might reset all settings, including language, to the factory defaults. This might be worth trying if you're unable to find the language settings.
- Contact Sony Support: If you're unable to find a solution through the manual or online resources, it's best to contact Sony customer support for your region. They might be able to provide specific guidance or let you know if changing the language is even possible on the DCR-PC100.
- Third-Party Resources: Search for user forums or online communities where other users might have faced a similar issue and found a solution. Sometimes, enthusiasts or experts in those communities can provide helpful insights.
- Professional Assistance: If all else fails, consider reaching out to a professional technician or service center that specializes in Sony camcorders. They might have experience with older models and could potentially assist you.
