Reseting Sony H1 digital camera

Hi

If you examine the body of the camera there is a tiny reset - which is recessed into the body. To access it you need somthing such as a bent out paper clip wire.

Hope this helps. Remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

My sony DSC-H1's LCD is not showing anything...but

I have a similar SONY camera. Turn the camera on and to the right of the viewfinder (or perhaps in a different location on your model) there will be a small button that reads, "FINDER/LCD". Press that button once to see if your view switches back from viewfinder mode to LCD display mode.

Shutter button broken. Need repair manual.

If you can do the repair yourself, you can buy either the complete shutter button assembly for about $40, or there is a repair kit available where you rebuild the broken button.

There is only ONE PLACE to buy the repair kit with instructions: DARNTOOTHYSAM com. Do a Google search for 'digital camera parts' and Darntoothysam is the first listing shown. Feel free to look elsewhere but you won't find the $20 repair kit anywhere else and on the Darntoothysam blog page there are instructions to tell you how to install it yourself.

If you don't want to try and install it, there is a repair package on Darntoothysam for only $50 that includes the part and installation plus return shipping of the camera to you!

Hope this helps.

Blurry indoor results- using flash

Built in flash units on digital cameras are only meant to be used out to a distance of 6-12 feet. When taking photos of events ie graduations, sporting events, concerts you need to do two things. 1). Change the ISO setting on your camera. This is the same as the old film speed ratings the higher the number the more sensitive the camera becomes. try ISO 1600 or above in low light. 2) You have a mode setting, set it for the type of lighting that is in the space you are in, incandescent, flourescent or whatever, it's easy to do. and finally 3) Turn off your flash! When your flash is on your camera closes up the aperature and takes the picture at a higher rate of speed in anticipation of reflected light off of nearby objects, so your pictures will be darker and blurrier with the flash on.
Even high grade professional flashes only work out to 20-30 feet so they won't help you. Read your cameras manual on taking pictures in low light conditions. It will give you all of the above in great detail. You have a great camera but you need to learn how it works, don't give up on it.

Horizontal pale blue lines on LCD screen and even on picture

Hey Ma-ya,
Most of the time horizontal lines are a result of taking photographs in very bright situations. If you are seeing horizontal lines on the LCD screen and in your images in low light situations this is most likely digital noise. Two ways that could fix this problem are turning the noise reduction on, and/or making sure your flash is turned on and your subject is within the range of your flash. Another cause of digital noise is having your iso set too high (I never shoot over 400 iso). I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Sony Cybershot DSC-H7 - can not change flash settings

for anyone who wants to know how i solved my problem with the flash saying it cannot be changed...

If you go into the camera settings; look under rec mode. It might be in "burst" mode. Flash will only work while in "normal" mode.

Recharge of flash

Sony H1 camera has a delay to recharge the flash and I hope that you know that as you are using it for the last three years. If the time delay is a new issue check the MAH of the battery to ensure that it will be above 2200 at least. If the MAH is below 2200 it is natural that the time delay will be more to recharge the flash. If my solution proves good please rate it. Regards.

Photo resolution

Sony H1 takes photos at 72 dpi by default. But the picture quality will be good. if you want to convert it to 300dpi open the picture in adobe Photoshop and select image size and change resolution to 300 dpi. but the file size will be very high to up load. if you want to reduce the file size select the image size in adobe photoshop and reduce it according to your requirement. if my solution proves good please rate it. Regards.

Shutter button delay

The flash need to be fully charged before it would fire the shot.

In case the battery is old and supply power is not enough to boost the flash, it will await until the orange LED of flash indicator is no longer blinking, means ready to take picture with flash light.

Replace the new full battery will be better and faster to take shot with flash enable.
